This is primarily for anyone who thinks is too slow to add stocks.
Today, I wanted to buy some shares of Globally Local, which just listed in Canada. I expected a big, traditional firm like HL to add them immediately. After all, they’re a full service broker. Complete with fees, phone numbers to call and such. Not only did I have to contact them and ask for the stock to be added, but I’ve been told it’ll likely take two to three weeks to get them on the system. Naturally, highly demanded companies get added faster.
I by no means think perfect and have multiple GIAs for a reason. I’m now more appreciative of what we get here, though. You get what you pay for, as the saying goes.
