Hello Im looking at moving from invest engine to freetrade as i have a 70K pension to transfer and investengine is a little more expensive and am still awaiting pension transfers. What i am looking for is low cost tracker funds - I am at a lose to find how to search and sort ETF by cost. once you search (for example S&P500) how do you sort the funds by TER?
I donāt think thereās a way to do it within the Freetrade app, itās more suited to trading than research.
There are a stack of ETF sites like https://www.justetf.com
Iāve also recently found that ChatGPT is useful when researching but please double check anything that it says as it is known to lie.
Iām over exposed in the energy sector (renewables only, no fossils) and I was using it recently to find some ethical ETFs and/or ETFs in fields such as hydrogen, robotics, plant based foods/lab meat, etc. I found it quite useful but, again, I did have to double check everything it gave me.
I think VUSA is 0.07% and so is IUSA?
Thereās a fierce competition to deliver the cheapest global tracker, and it seems that Amundi is winning with WEBG. Shame itās not available to FT customers yet.
My favourite ones are Invescoās FWRG and FTWG, cheap but certainly not the cheapest available on FT.
Iām waiting for the AUM to increase in FWRG before I move from VWRP, that is unless Vanguard reduce their TER beforehand.
SPXL, an S&P tracker costing 0.03%, is worth a mention as is PRIW, a developed world tracker which costs 0.05%
Thanks for the suggestions - Hopfully FT keep and eye and will add a sort function to the app or even if it was just on the website. It would definitely be a worth while addition.
Curious to know what ETF you will go for, if you donāt mind sharing
FWRG is my ETF of choice for the ISA, and I will open a SIPP with FT soon. I may go for a less defensive approach, not decided yet.
I thought Iād take this example and feed it into ChatGPT along with my demands, so I asked ChatGPT:
Iām looking for something like āInvesco FTSE All World UCITS ETF Acc LON: FWRGā but thatās ethical and or sustainable, it doesnāt invest in tobacco or fossil fuels or weapons.
Then I had a nice chat with it about the fees for each of its recommendations, the divididend performance and finally asked it to give my Yahoo finance links for all so I could go and look at some charts.
In hindsight, I should have just asked it to compare the performance for me! Of course, it could still be feeding me a pack of lies but I enjoyed the conversation anyway.
Link to it here for anyone that wants to read through a cow talking to an electronic liar: https://chatgpt.com/share/bb4f748b-22c9-4174-89ef-ad4c9f5fcd76
I have done the same (using Copilot which is ChatGPT in disguise) to find monthly paying LSE based investment trusts along with yields, growth etc. which is a royal pain in the butt to do manually and got good results in seconds.
Ya i liked the FWRG.
You can get a little cheaper and have more control by picking 4 or 5 different ETFās.
Was thinking
XLKQ 15% - push the mix more to the tech - cheaper then any Nasdaq
SPXL 50% - cheapest S&P500
MEUD 30% - UK and euro
SEMA 5% - not to sure might add more MEUD.
Not as diversified as FWRG but i can back off tech if i think its over.
The global trackers Iām monitoring are trending downwards slightly, including FWRG. There could be some good entry points in the very near future, or some opportunities to average down the base cost of the position, if you are already buying.
I am not seeking recommendation , For UK investors, are there any suggestions on ETFs/Funds for value/income? thx.
I donāt have any answers but youāve sent me down a rabbit hole on this site that I just foundā¦
That must have been for quite a big rabbit!
Or I am a very athletic, nimble and toned cow.
I always feel I want to repliy but I know I will go to far lol
