True, as Dave says though could be an issue for people taking out Ā£11k (which isnāt anywhere near what I could do) but a lot of it is the principle of the thing as well. If it were up to me, it would be illegal for any ISAs not to be flexible!

Also a good point, but not such an issue for me, I totally avoid non-UK investments both due to this and because of withholding taxes.

it doesnāt have the greatest range of investments

Thank you for this point, which is why Iāll be researching the company, not necessarily switching. I did have a cursory look for their investment universe and couldnāt find anything so was going to take another look nearer April.
Just for avoidance of doubt, I do like FreeTrade and am not looking to switch, I would only do so if I thought the competition was substantially better which I donāt think it is currently. However, this is the most attractive alternative Iāve found so far, especially the flexibility part which I think should be standard to all ISAs.
On one hand, Iāve previously maxed out my allowance but in reality only utilised two thirds of it that year because I needed to make a withdraw for some short-term liquidity due to unforeseen life events.
On tāother, part of me likes a non-flexible Isa as Iām investing for the long term and it makes me think twice about withdrawals. If you need to withdraw within five years, you should hold cash instead.
That said, Iām all for flexibility and choice.
Edit: Iāve just had a look at the CMC app. To my surprise, it doesnāt even have VWRL/VWRP although it does have VWRD ā presumably so clients have to pay a forex commission.
Iāve taken more than Ā£20K out of mine this year and paid off my mortgage with it, as it happens I canāt afford to put it all back this year. But If I did earn enough to put most of it back a Flexible Isa would have been useful
What are peoples thoughts on the IPO avenue again? I know itās become an unspoken term in this space. However, the state of private market investment may be less favourable than the public markets currently. FTSE at all time highs. Live opportunities on Crowdcube highlight the lack of retail interest. Many macro reasons for this, Iām sure the changes to the cost structure at Crowdcube didnāt help.
Investors response to Freetrades polling on future funding interest and inferred share price was damming for Crowdcube as a reliable mechanism for funding. Maybe we are all feeling burnt on the development promises made over the years
I got the email in my inbox this morning! Really pleased since I had my recently open LISA and JISA already there.
A little bit sad that Freetrade is still not offering either, and now it might be almost impossible to compete with HL on that space, since they removed most of their fees.
your Invest Account will be credited with Cashback. You will need to maintain or open an Invest Account in order to receive Cashback. If you do not have anactive Invest Account, you will be able to receive Cashback if you open an Invest Account before 5 April 2024.
Each Cashback is eligible for withdrawal twelve (12) months after the respective Award Date (the āLock-upPeriodā).
During the Lock-up Period, you are allowed to freely use it as Free Funds and place Orders in line with our Invest Terms.
Another way to read it is āwe want people to buy stocks in invest account so share lending can happen.ā
So long as you donāt hold an ISA with them clause 3.2 letās you join with other of their products. Itās a strong offer. You donāt have to put extra money into their āinvestā account so it is up to a Ā£200 give away.
I hope Freetrade can respond with an offer or they might lose out on a lot of new money coming in.
Id love to transfer my wifes sipp to freetrade but the fact she doesnt invest in isa i dont fancy paying 12 pound a month. Would be a good idea to have a price just for sipp users
