Games Workshop - GAW - Share Chat

I am up 12% since Nov. I am holding this baby all the way to the death bed, with their amazingly unique IP, a CEO who is frugal, no debt and a YOY increase in cash. Also with strong revenue streams with royalties, I think this stock is a lifer.

They have their earnings out on 14th. If it’s a strong one, which I feel it will be. I’ll buy more. You got to think there is no other company that does what GAW does. (that I know of) and with the success of WarHammer, the rebranding all their shops from Games Workshop to Warhammer which always has people in them.

You also got to see the likes of the online communities around Warhammer, such as. https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/ where the fans are engaged, and love the product and the joy it brings of having that perfectly painted figure, enthusiasm breeds enthusiasm…I mean I am not a board gamer but I love seeing what the talented fans can do with a paint brush.

This is a strong company with a good CEO who can manage cash flow, the sky is the limit. IMO

Why would I sneer at myself?

I actually went into Games Workshop the other day, I like to ask staff how the business is going and what they think drove the share price up. He said because they brought out a new range of figurines.

I’ve been reading this book by Peter Lynch, he said when he wanted to do some research on a theme park, he’d go and ride the roller coasters, so I’m trying to follow his lead when I’m out and about.

These are one of my favourite companies. I’ve never been interested in the products myself, I do purchase them as gifts for family.
I’m up 40%.

Thanks for sharing @beluga

I feel exactly the same!

With earnings call taking place on this coming Tuesday, who is buying GAW ahead of the call and who waits until after?

I plan to buy before just in case the share price goes to way above the current £65 level, and if it crashes after, I’ll average down.

I read more about royalty revenues in general. What a wonderful kind of revenue!

I’ve doubled my holding. It may already have built in anticipation of good news, but I cant see this stock falling long term so any correction will likely be temporary.

I doubled mine yesterday also…in prep for Tuesday! I mean no one else has an IP like it, and their CEO has long term vision and doesn’t want to cut corners to get there.

win win IMO

@Rollingskies @mrpbennett I’ll do the same and buy before the call. If it drops, I’ll buy more. It’s a fantastic company based on my research. Thank you for your thoughts!

Its a tremendous set of results & truly shows that British retail isn’t quite dead yet.

I’m having such a hard time valuing the company right now, can’t help but feel that so much good news is priced in

Just opened my app, up 53%.

Cracking results today, the games workshop story over the past 5 years has been phenomenal. The valuation reflects the growth potential but I don’t think it’s done yet personally, I happen to think their warhammer 40k IP still has the potential to progress and if they make a success of the Eisenhorn series then we could see huge potential in media markets.

Otherwise they still have the opportunity to continue to grow in markets outside the U.K. which aren’t quite as saturated.

I think they’re ramping up to release new story elements for 40k. I’ve never read or played any of it, except for some forums when I was researching the stocks.
With new story comes new figures and toys and games.

I invested right before the recent earnings call a month ago.

I’m happy with my returns so far.

I invested in November, up 31%

Three of Games Workshop’s directors (the CEO, the Financial Director, and the Chairperson) sold significant amount of shares this week:

(source: sharesmagazine.co.uk)

It’s important to note that directors cannot sell shares based on information about current trading that has not been made public, so this is not a sign that the business has taken a turn for the worse at all.

The exact opposite is true, Games Workshop is doing super well and so is the share price.

Still, it might be a sign that the share price is high in the eyes of some its directors. I’m also asking myself how long the good times will last and whether people will continue loving Warhammer.

Is anyone taking profit?

I am sure they’re just taking profit after a good increase in share price. This company is going to continue to grow and grow they have an IP that no one else has, their royalties are killing it.

Im sure the big dogs made a nice profit from their sale.

Likely cashing out on some good gains. GW has an animated TV show coming out this year alone with multiple new games, and they’ve just completed construction of s new distribution warehouse.

I am wondering if anyone is aware for share price fluctuating from green to red on most of the trading days?

My gains have gone down from about 60% to about 30% over the last few days.
Still one of my best performing stocks, I have no doubt it will go back up.
