As I understand it the number is generated when you have completed the signup. So you can have numbers for accounts still awaiting verification.
There was also a post last year which said the customers were xyz but āaccount numberā was a few thousand over that figure.
I donāt think it matters too much though, if we just keep seeing the crowdsourced account number then we can see the trend. Just need to use the date they signed up rather than when they were verified as the two can be days apart.
When are we expected to reach 250,000 users ?
Exciting to see these numbers considering Freetrade hasnāt expanded into Europe yet. Will be interesting to see where abouts in the UK most of the users are. Do they have a problem Monzo had where majority of the people where from London and the South East where they have a big community.
Greater London is by far the most populous and richest region in the UK. Itās not a problem to make this your first and priority area, thatās just logic. Itās also the only region you really have to be strong in to thrive.
I like your graph but sadly, Iām not sure it is representative.
The growth was more or less flat up until the start of the coronavirus crisis in Europe. Then, during the crisis (basically right now) we see the growth peeking from around 400 new users a day to about 1k for a few days. Then for the past month weāve seen the growth slowing from 1000 to 800 to the latest 700 new users a day.
For your projection to work we badly need to get back to a point where growth acceleratesā¦ and unfortunately, for the past year, the only time we saw that is during the current exceptionnal circumstances !
