One of my friend signed up yesterday evening with user No. 38,717. Looks like every day almost 300 sign ups. Not bad

We should be way above 40K customers.
Today morning around 10:00 AM , one of my friend joined with user number starting 41,000.
Today evening around 8:00 PM, new user number was 41,4xx (aprx 400 new users in almost 2.5 days )
As far as I am aware Freetrade has done zero advertising.
Today new user number was 42,4xx so around 6.5 days, 1000 new users signed up…looks like summer is impacting on new users sign up and it is now aprx 150 users per day
Any guess what the user numbers?

My referral signed up yesterday at 474XX
One of my referrals from last Thursday got 45,9XX.
I have to say I’m a bit disappointed with the growth numbers. What happened to the wait list of 80k? Did half of them not bother when the opportunity came around?
The user base has grown by ~44% in the last 53 days, going from ~33,000 quoted on June 20th to 47.477 as quoted above today.
That’s not bad going!
I know, I know. The growth is good and steady, but I’d hoped the numbers would be a lot higher by the time the potential competitors got their plans in order. The wait list gave the impression that the numbers would shoot up once open registration was available.
Must factor in that many people have more than one email account so with waitlists got to factor in people referring themselves (duplicates) and that conversion naturally is never going to be 100% either.
Some of the waitlist was also foreigners not resident or citizens of the UK and therefore restricted from downloading the app and/or setting up an account. A restriction maybe some did not anticipate when putting their names on the waitlist.
I suspect a large reason this 100,000 was over inflated was that people used multiple email addresses to refer themselves to bump up places in the queue. A waitlist user is very different from an active user.
The above works out at 3.3% growth in 11 days!! Which shows the referrals are working! The more customers you have, the more customers you’ll get as there’ll be more referrals, word of mouth, articles etc
