This can be a positive echo chamber at times. While it’s exciting to see the exponential growth play out in real time here, check out the reddit thread at https://www.reddit.com/r/FreetradeApp/ for an alternate view on what new customers are saying. Not to detract from FT’s success today, but it’s notable how many people are not having a great FT experience.

Wow, that reddit is gold for the FT team. I would be all over it, taking notes, talking to users and fixing stuff. (realize they are currently swamped)

Indeed an incredibly powerful source of exactly the areas to be addressed. It’s amazing how much of the complaints / feedback could be addressed so easily through clearer comms and expectation mgmt

I start to appreciate now guys your comments about Robinhood, and FT not offering options margin and leverage. I start to understand that this positioning will be a game changer for FT. Keep it real!!!

A shop like RH is totally different beast to run vs. FT, in terms of capital requirements, risk management and so on.

Tbh it sounds like FT can barely cope with the numbers on board right now so I’d rather they didn’t expand to Europe until they get their house in order for UK customers.
There’s so much development work needed on the app - I wish they’d just focus on getting that done before taking it to Europe.
After all the bad experiences today/negative reviews on the App Store, FT need to get the app and behind-the-scenes processes squeaky clean before any expansion.
Real-time prices/quotes should have been sorted ages ago…

What was the last number posted? I think I have missed one! 
We got approx. 45k new users in the 24 hour run up to yesterday evening. Could possibly have done up to 60k total yesterday. Won’t know until we get a new number this morning! Any friends you can sign up?

I think we should be thankful FT is not in Europe yet, it would just be too much. We have the right problem at the right time and if they can keep the integrity of the service intact here it bodes well for the future. The notion of building to last is never more pertinent than now when you see how much pushback there is to the leveraged houses like RH and T212. There is nothing like sticking to a good plan through rough sea’s, good plans = good outcomes and you don’t react to short term noise.
