So to counter the post what are the good points about legal and general.
I always thought they were a good payer for years. The pensions with them Usally give higher returns than say standard life etc
If they’re going to be losing profits would this be because people are removing pensions etc?

UK market is undervalued.
Financial industry is London Stock Exchange strength.
Investments and pensions are seen as growth areas with an ever aging population. LGEN is arguably amongst the very top stocks in these areas.
Consistent and high dividend yield.
Short term, earnings predicted to go down 1%. One. Predicted. In the current negative market.
IMO if you are buying for one year its a good investment…8% Dividend beats any savings account.
But the real strength is in buying long term, with potential for some growth and therefore potentially even bigger dividends snowballing over time.
Diversify, DYOR, and if you buy, make it for 5-10 years and longer…its as safe as investment as I can imagine.
Most importantly, remember I’m just a numpty and only buy what YOU believe in.

You have made me want to drop 5k tommorow thanks Bob.
Dang I wish I knew what you all know lol its a slwo learning process as a new investorx the amount of knowlage you need to take in the after you learn that part you then need to learn how to read companies etc.
That’s next on my list but as warren buffet said “You shouldn’t be investing in any company of you can’t read their financial documents etc” else you’re just speculating or following the crowd hoping for the best.
I do know though that like all word etfs etc is a safe bet but not the best returns but then that’s what you pay for a safer more steady return.

Aviva for me too, looks like it has strong potential. I’ve got both L&G (bigger holding) and Aviva.

I have Aviva, Lgen and Admiral in insurance. I did have direct line but I ditched them as the other 3 were all performing much better

They seem to be a bit more prompt with FTSE100 companies… sometimes. Received a few on the same day as payment date.

They like to hold it back for days getting all the interest on our parts
Might be worth reading this post :
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to clarify a few things here based on your questions and comments.
We receive all dividends into non-interest paying accounts with our custodians in the different markets we offer. When we receive dividends in USD and EUR we’ll convert to GBP and move the proceeds into our GBP client money account until distributed. UK dividends are swept into the GBP client money account from +1 day after the pay date.
In terms of timings, US-listed companies are always going to b…

I imagine if we all paid £20 per month it would be feasible to pay all dividends quicker. They could hire more staff and provide a speedier service.
Rather pay reasonable fees and wait personally

This past month has not been the best for dividend processing. US shares as well. usually next day had many over 5 days.
FT claimed delays from distribution but who to believe.
