A little celebration here - assuming Marchās divs pay out as predicted, I am on target to break over Ā£200 in dividends in 1 year. Itās one of my goals for this financial year.
Congrats!
Nice one
General question for the divvy folks.
Is your approach to dividend harvesting going to change/adapt once the allowance will be down to Ā£500?
I only hold dividend stocks in an ISA, so no change for me
Thatās fantastic @SB426 great work!
February was quiet for me on the income front ā precisely diddly squat in dividends last month.
Thankfully, I had about four-figure growth on the capital side.
Same as Eden, no change as I only have investments in ISA and SIPP.
same here. ISA.
keep stackingā¦brick by brick
I Just wanted to shed some light here as Iām also invested in PHP and was confused by this at first. @BlueSonic has sort of hit the nail on the head.
PHPās investor relations section say this: Distributions from the Company may comprise Property Income Distribution (āPIDā), ordinary cash dividends (ānon-PIDā) or a combination of the two.
Their first quarterly dividend payment (1.725p/ share) this year consist of:
PID element: 1.45p (WHT applies here)
Non-PID Element: 0.275p (WHT does not apply here)
Total: 1.725p
WHT from the PID element should be returned back to you as per Freetradeās prior messaging, but I agree in the sense that this is a bit of a convoluted process which can sometimes go amiss as thereās no record of this reaching your balance apart from an email or App message suggesting youāve been refunded.
More info on PHPās dividends can be found here:

and holding REIT outside an isa, what a nightmare at the end of year when you have to work out how much tax to relaim on your self assessment
Thanks @ForeverNewbie
Idonāt intend to add any more REITs to my Freetrade account (although am still topping up PHP) - perhaps I should check that Iāve received all the dividends Iām due, just donāt have the time to do a deep dive right now and am trusing that Freetrade is adding to my accountā¦
Freetrade have come back to me now, although their response confirmed what was already known around reclaims.
Mid march represents 4 months since the last reclaim was applied to my account (or at least since the last in app message was received). I have stated I donāt think this timeframe is acceptable when considering other brokers donāt apply WHT at all.
I am now waiting for them to advise firstly on when the next reclaim will be applied and secondly, whether the frequency of reclaims is to be increased.
February is a notoriously poor month for dividends so that makes Ā£265 even more impressive!
As mentioned in my comment above, February is notoriously poor for dividends
However, here is my update for the month. For all you self-identified āsmall investorsā, I hope this is motivation to keep going!
Feb-24 dividend was Ā£9.18. This was lower than last year (Ā£12.54) and 2022 (Ā£14.82), but higher than 2021 (Ā£3.63) and 2020 (Ā£0.14).
Dividends are still trending upwards though and approaching Ā£100 per month.
Dividend payment relative to investment can be seen here and some stocks have paid me over 14% back relative to my investment.
Yearly dividends are starting to creep up. Ā£52.60 received so far for 2024.
Context:
Typically invest Ā£550 per month. Portfolio size is Ā£27,518. Up by Ā£3,569.
Have a good month all and keep progressing on your dividend journey!
MJRinests
Looks impressive, you must have bought Aviva back a while ago to achieve the 14% dividend, well done on the timings
On a different note, do you hold them in ISAāsā¦ Iām debating moving into a shares ISA but the maths Ā£5.99 a month charge and my average of dividends running at 9.5%. seems to be indicating itās better to pay the tax at 8%, guess it keeps old Jeremy happy with any contributions to the debt pile of the Gov
Or you could just open a free s&s ISA with T212?
i dont think its a 14% annual yield, its total dividends vs total investment - is that correct @MJRInvests ?
Hi, that is correct!
Hi, what is dividend allowance? Even if we have ISA and SIPP, dividends that goes over the allowance are subject to tax?
ISA and SIPP dividends are not subject to tax with no limit.
