Polestar - PSNY - Share Chat

My understanding was the merger was definitely going ahead, around the start of June sometime. I think the paperwork is in its final stages. I don’t know the situation if it doesn’t go through but I didn’t think there was much of a risk of that with this deal.

Someone at Freetrade please confirm this, for the porxy vote on this SPAC, I guess we still cannot vote?

I remember for CCIV I was not able proxy vote, that was like a year ago, has anything changed?

Freetrade are an execution only broker (likes most are) so they’ll not advise you on company news. Right now Freetrade do not support elective corporate actions so you’ll not be able to vote on the merger or the terms of it.

I thought as much. I’m still confident its a done deal…

There has been little reported to suggest it won’t get done, the SPAC is also taking a fairly small stake so the valuation can be figured out.

They’re a ‘new’ car company but have the been in Uber within Geeling / Volvo so have a direct route to market and presumably dealer and service network.

:crossed_fingers::eyes: ??

Do we expect the price to drop on Friday now the SPAC is pretty much confirmed?

The deal has been agreed by all of the shareholders & warrant holders. Trading under the Polestar name could begin as early as Friday.

It’s rising premarket in response to the successful vote any short-term gain could be a little bubble or it could be a reward for the long-term holders as it begins trades at ‘fair value’ - we’ll see.

Can anyone confirm for me if this will be an ADR? As I know the Chinese ADRs aren’t qualified for the ISA so currently this is in our ISAs but I saw a YouTube say its an ADR when it merges. Anyone know any better?

It’s a direct listing on NASDAQ, not an ADR which means it’s fine for an ISA.

I saw my first Polestar on the road the other day. as far as I know I haven’t seen any of the above. I realise this is a useless anecdote and should not be used for investment decisions

So the big question is who is holding and who is selling?

I personally bought in for the long term, 5 years at least.

Holding for the long term. I would worry I sold and it ended up doing really well later down the line, so hanging on in there and holding for 5 years or so.

The difference between Polestar and many of the other brands in the manufacturing, sales & servicing are all in place thanks to Volvo & Geeling. This should give them a sizeable advantage

I don’t find it weird THG at polestar is still being used by Volvo in their performance EV branding.

Thanks for clarifying Neil, shows that you have to be careful with YouTube! I didn’t think it was an ADR either so that’s why it confused me. I’m bullish on polestar as I’ve seen a couple of them on the roads here in England and they have a research facility near me in Warwickshire. Holding long term regardless of movements and I’ll DCA if it dips

This is my logic too lol I really like the polestar, it’s designers and backers give me confidence and I’d genuinely like to have one. A few UK car review sites and personal users have some good blogs and reviews on it too which makes me happy to see. I think this is a sleeping giant and I’m taking my position before it lifts off
