Hi,
I am currently living in the UK, but might want to move back to Germany or France in the future. Is Freetrade planning on offering switching of portfolios between countries (where Freetrade will have already launched)?
Thanks!

What exactly do you mean by portfolio transfers? If it is an ISA transfer, no, it will not be possible. If you become a tax resident in Germany or France, you will have the right to keep your contributions but not contribute any longer.
Hi,
Not an ISA. Just a general account. If I move my country of residence can I just keep my freetrade account and all tax legislation will be automatically adjusted (of course given that freetrade had already launched in said country).
I suspect you will simply be subject to your local tax legislation hence no need for any formal portfolio transfers, although there perhaps may be some FX consideration given that France and Germany are in Eurozone.
Maybe @Freetrade_Team1 or @dan.t could provide a clearer perspective?
Im also interested about this topic. Did you find out anything else? Thanks
No, Iβm not aware of any new information about this.
Thereβs no need you just declare the relevant tax to the relevant government. Portfolio location is irrelevant
But itβs just easier if you donβt have to declare it. E.g. in Germany the broker automatically takes your tax owed.
