Have to agree put some money in as its a new toy to play with but feel like theirs a dozen better options to put your money in.
All interest is covered by your £1,000 savings tax allowance and if you are entitled to it your £5,000 starter savings tax allowance.
All interest includes=interest on gilts, interest on bonds, bank savings accounts, peer to peer (interest) and company dividends paid as streamed interest.
Capital gains on gilts are I am informed not taxable.
Higher rate tax payers only receive 500 savings allowance and Additional rate tax payers receive no savings allowance at all.
That’s sexy if that’s the case
And neither of them can use the £5,000 starter savings tax allowance.
Ner de ner ner!!
Facts
So as aoad tax pager I have 1k interest allience which applys to these tessjred kf sk I might eel it fking until April
ChatGPT ‘translated’ your comment to: “As a road tax payer, I have a 1k interest allowance that applies to the assessed value of my vehicle. I might not feel its impact until April.”
I’m not sure that was exactly what you were saying
I was pretty wrecked typing with one eye at that point. I was just saying that I have that 1k Allowence before I need to to tell hmrc.
I mee to do mot research when I’m in a better condition, still typing with or eye lol
No it’s been mentioned multiple times these are frat as income and not interest.
Hearing lots of conflicting information in relation to how these work. This is directly taken from the .gov guidance:
‘So any profit made by an individual as a result of buying this bill would be charged to income tax’.
Taken from the link posted by Neil.
See I had read this also on the gov and alexia also told me it but when he said that it gave me hope that I could just keep going with it.
I’m interested to see what the fee will be come April as well…
For me this was a tester really from the interest I have lost in the bank plus the tax I pay on the bills only gives me a tiny profit but it was just a test and actully works out almost like getting paid Nightshift Allowence.
That’s kinda how i would use this for when I don’t get a Nightshift to just top my pay up even if it’s taxed as my Nightshift is as well anyway.
But yes it would be so great if it were to be in an isa.
Hi,
Am I alone with the issue of not being able to purchase Treasury Bill?
I have GIA and have operated it successfully for over a year.
I have also opened the Treasury account and successfully made deposit but app constantly fails at the ’ confirm order’ stage, I was trying the minimum £50 as a trial.
Freetrade chat have been absolutely useless over this problem despite my sending screenshots, they keep saying delete cache but I don’t think you can via iPhone as they don’t appear to have programmed that.
I have deleted and reloaded app to no avail
Hey @Lord_K can you share screenshots of the error you’re getting? You can DM me on here too. We’ll get this straightened out for you!
Will freetrade do treasury bonds 1-20 years as I don’t mind putting aside a few cash for a few years. Corporate bonds would be nice too.
One screenshot shows the ’ confirm’ button
The other screenshot is immediately after pressing the confirm button…the numerical keypad just pops up, this can be swiped fown to return to the confirm screeo…
I have tried altering text dize as recommended by Freetrade Chat but no effect
EDIT…ONLY ONE SCREENSHOT AS MOST EXCELLENT APP ONLY ALLOWS ONE EMBEDDED FILE
Thanks for sharing these. The team is just looking into this and figuring out a fix for you. I’ll get back to you here as soon as possible.
Morning @Lord_K
It looks like the change in font size means that the confirm buy button is displaying over the amount button that’s why clicking it displays the keypad. Can you try reverting to the default font size/accessibility settings on your phone and let me know if that helps to resolve it?
Did you turn on a screen zoom setting as well? That might also be contributing.
Let me know and we can go from there.
Alex
