And going back to investments it’s probably worth 10X what he paid for it, Chargers fetch silly money these days
Do you ever watch bangers and cash the tv program about the auction house in Yorkshire loads of nice metal on there. I’m a child of the 80s and it’s amazing how much cars from that time and especially the fast fords from then that I lusted after in my youth go for now.
Not sure If I’ve seen that one, I’ve seen similar shows though.
I know we are on an investing forum but I find it slightly annoying that they are so money focused. I got into old cars because they are fun. I don’t particularly want values to sky rocket. I’d rather be able to afford to buy more of them
You wouldn’t want to buy my first car in the early 1990’s - a 1980 Datsun Cherry in yellow. Awful car - cost me £350 and I got rear ended after 3 months (how they didn’t see the car in this colour I don’t know). It had so much rust half the engine flew out of the front grill
Old datsuns fetch decent money now though.
Wish I’d bought a 240Z back in the day, although I’d have needed to keep it in a dehumidified building or it would have fallen to pieces
Slightly nicer looking car than the heap of junk I had
And I’ve just remembered - my first car was actually a Mk2 Escort (really it was my Mum’s) - that would probably be worth something now, if I hadn’t blown it up by thrashing it.
