ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd - ZIM

Just noticed that on my activity feed, it states that I received my dividend on 3rd of April but I actually received it today like many others.

Could someone please explain the dividend yield percentage. The amount cited for Zim appeared incredibly high. I had assumed the dividend yield percentage would simply indicate the amount paid in relation to the amount invested but it would appear not.

The dividend yield is essentially the percentage of the share price it pays out in dividends over the previous year. It has paid out a fair amount, however the share price has lowered in comparison.

The dividend yield is backwards looking, so it’s not always a good indication of what you may receive in the future.

@Redstar dividend pay date will always be the pay date of the dividend, and not when it shows in your account. I would imagine that is the important one for tax purposes.

Got my Zim divvy -5 days after even Etoro paid
Had planned to reinvest the £1480 -Freetrade screwed that plan🤢

Has next ex div date been declared ? If so, when is it and any idea how much it will be ?

On the 16th of May as far as I’m aware. I dont expect it to be big, if any at all.

If they cut divis, then i assume sp will tank

Probably will tank. Earnings are now 22nd of May.

Frustrating they have earnings call a few days before ex date.

Missed earnings and no divvy:

First Quarter 2023 Highlights

  • Adjusted EBITDA for the first quarter was $373 million, a year-over-year decrease of 85%

  • Operating loss (EBIT) for the first quarter was $14 million, compared to operating income of $2,243 million in the first quarter of 2022. Reconciliation items between operating income and Adjusted EBIT in the first quarter were negligible.

Oh dear sp will probably tank on open

Down 10% already

Slowly worked back upwards. I think day ended at -2.8% still not ideal. Guess this is now a long term growth more than a dizzy div stock. Doubt i will be green any time soon.

Looks like a long hold ahead unfortunately :pensive:

Erm … feels like someone paid a lot of dividends they won’t be able to keep up with!

Think I have a cunning plan to make $1.37 Billion

$ZIM has suspended the dividend

This should be paying a dividend today, correct?
