Hi, I recently spoke with a freetrade support member asking if an alternative payment method was available- I.e taking subscription payments directly from the funds in an individual’s account rather than from a bank account.
I was told to add this as a suggestion in the community. The question came up because I’ll be moving abroad (out of the UK) for a while and therefore regular streams of income will not be coming into my UK bank account anymore.
Would be great to get votes on this post so that the product team can prioritise this.
Another way that would be good would be to run the subscription through the iOS App Store like a lot of other apps do (e.g. Duolingo does this if you buy the premium subscription through the app).
That way you can use the list of payment methods you already have set up in your iCloud account (so including potentially Apple Pay or mobile billing as well as a set of cards).
I think this would save Freetrade support requests as well because there should be fewer issues with expired cards etc., if one payment method fails it will automatically fall back to a different one and still work fine.
