The fundamentals of AMC are terrible in all honesty. Most people are here for short squeeze. This stock doesn’t go off fundamentals or technical analysis at this point.
Completely agree, as I said short term all bets are off and analysing the company is a waste of time.
That’s why I think it’s disingenuous to point at price targets from analysts that are based on fundamentals and mostly published in 2020 when there were 1/5th the number of shares outstanding. Hardly any sell side analysts are covering this stock so it’s no wonder the ratings are messy.
All of them, they weren’t trying to predict these short term events they were trying to assess the fundamentals of the company at the time they were written. That $1 target from MKM was in Feb 21 which actually makes it equivalent to the $4 targets in 2020 and more bullish than some of the lower 2020 targets.
For what it’s worth I think these targets are often pretty meaningless, trying to distil research into a single price is always going to be flawed (like trying to convert a film review into a 1-5 star rating) and there are many legitimate criticisms of them, but don’t try and pretend they are something that they are not.
I’m not sure what you think I’m trying to pretend they are?
Edit to add what I do think they are. I think they’re meaningless. The thing with review ratings for movies is we’ll get enough ratings to get to a decent average…
Price targets based on fundamental analysis is not shill lol. Anyone that can do DCF model can get those same numbers, there is no trick and no manipulation…
I did check again. You called Yahoo Finance shillbots and said the price targets were “nonsense” therefore I commented that those targets were based on a bit more than just shilling.
No, ofc not, they just compile them but I was focusing on the price targets being “nonsense”. It is not semantics, I am simply saying that getting those price targets is not a shill excercise, it’s fundamental analysis, my valuation model is not trying to deceive me and I am not using it to trick anyone. I just wanted to point it out because it is a common thing to assume anything that doesn’t agree with you is nonsense, this is called bias.
