I am fairly certain it was not all that long ago when people didn’t have central heating and only heated one room. I still know people who only heat one room. One who also refuses to have insulation fitted.
Although i have central heating I normally only heat one room in winter. I will turn the central heating on for an hour or two some nights. I do live in small 2 bed bungalow though.
Get a hot water bottle!
Please note: the following is my own opinion and that alone
Maybe we as investors could be part of the solution.
I have an idea and while I wish to be named as the person responsible for the idea, I implore someone with considerable influence and PR machine style ability to take this on, if they so wish
Shareholders against unfair energy prices.
We the undersigned are shareholders who own shares in UK energy companies or energy companies who operate within the UK, we the undersigned are happy to provide proof of ownership of shares in energy companies on request. We are unhappy with this and we notice that this is both unfair to both ourselves, many of us may be your customers as well.
Of course we appreciate you have to make money, we proactively wish for you to in order for us to gain returns via share price appreciation and dividends, however open ‘price gouging’ is not on, and we do not support, in any way, such actions.
Yours sincerely
Shareholders in your companies
Every company has an AGM at which you are allowed to bring motions for discussion and I would be surprised if the boards of these companies have not already addressed these concerns. As a neutral party Freetrade cannot be seen to be supporting, directly or tacitly, this kind of activity.
The cost of the energy crisis is something of national importance and maybe be better handled with individuals contacting their local MP, someone whose job it is to represent their views in parliament.
I hope you understand the difficulties that could be caused by an otherwise well-intentioned action.
