Community Meetup - 8 PM Wed 12th May 2021, live on Zoom

Be careful what you wish for. He seems to have somewhat unstable opinions on things he tweets about :wink:

I guess that’s a no then?

I’m now concerned that a request for a document that should have been in the public domain 7 months ago is being fobbed off with jokey replies about not burning CD’s.

I’ve asked Dan T about this (the company secretary) who told me he was aware of the issue with the filing (conflicting with what you have told me above) and I’ve chased Companies House who fail to reply beyond an automated response.

Why can’t a PDF of the document be uploaded on Dropbox or emailed so we can see it?

I tried asking Dan via email and would rather not ask this on the forum but what choice do I have when the Company Secretary refused to send it and Companies House are doing nothing about it? I’d rather not waste your time with this but I’ve exhausted all the other routes and have got nowhere.

I’m certainly not the only founding investor that wants to see this document and I’m asking on behalf of a group of us.

If you read this thread, you will find the timeline you are asking for:

So:

  • Sweden => September 2021
  • France => December 2021 (max)
  • Germany => December 2021 (max)
  • Netherlands => December 2021 (max)
  • Ireland => December 2021 (max)

And rest of eurozone or nordic countries: December 2021 (max)

You can’t order it, the 2020 with updates has no attached bulk shareholders list as far as I can tell. Look at the 2019 vs the 2020 one to the see the difference. This might be a companies house issue, try calling them and seeing what they say.

If it had then you would be able to call Companies House, go through to ordering then pay £20 (??) and get a physical disc in the post with the details. No idea what format the file on the physical disc is.

Out of interest are you looking for something specific on the disc?

Did Dan say why Freetrade are unable to provide a copy?

Exactly. Dan told me he is aware of the ā€˜issue’.

It’s impossible to get through and get an answer from them. They are useless.

I just want the full list of shareholders and the size of each holding.

No - he just said he can’t send it. I have absolutely no idea why. He did offer to confirm my own holding size but I want to see the full list not just my own - as I am entitled to.

Did you ask or did he volunteer what he’s doing to resolve the issue?

I presume this means call. Does it just ring through or do you encounter unhelpful call handlers?

Did you ask why?

Sidebar, I find it helps to ask the obvious. So please don’t take my questions the wrong way.

A wide and keyboard happy community of investors and users has its pros and cons. It is impossible to make everyone 100% happy. For me, Freetrade is doing a great job. I give my full support to the team. Thank you @adam for the additional answers.

He said he was working with their tech team to fix it but that they were slow to reply. This was in January.

The phone line had a voice message asking to email. I did this and someone replied saying the Confirmation Statement is online (it is but it’s missing Part 4 which was the whole reason I emailed them). When I replied to this I got no response despite being told I would get a response within 14 days. I emailed again a month or so later and got no reply at all. They aren’t fit for purpose.

I didn’t ask him why. But when I last contacted him in January I assumed it was going to get published on Companies House after he told me he was working with them to fix the problem.

@adam @viktor

Seriously, why is it so hard to get an answer to this? Why won’t/can’t the Company Secretary email the Confirmation Statement if it’s not available on Companies House as it should be?

Your story reminds me of The Castle by Franz Kafka. Fighting against the bureaucracy machine.

Would be great be able check that our names are still on that statement though

Personally, I am a bigger fan of The 12 Tasks of Asterix: The Place That Sends You Mad (widescreen) - YouTube

Maybe not as clever as Franz Kafka :wink: :rofl:

@adam I’d also like a full copy of the confirmation statement (for my records). Is there a reason why you can’t make it available?

You’ll just have to wait until the confirmation statement is available at Companies House, like every other company. The confirmation statement is a requirement of Companies House, we do not publish or share on request the personal information of our shareholders, beyond what we’re required by law.

We also get many requests for the company’s financial statements. And the answer remains consistent, you can get them from Companies House when released in line with statutory requirements.

Including Poland? :poland: :slightly_smiling_face:

Because, you know, I still remember this map:

Was he suspended for the angry now deleted post on this thread?

Probably not since Poland is neither nordic, nor eurozone, nor marked in this picture.

I can’t figure out why they’d be angry, it looks like they’ve only spent months trying to make a reasonable request through various channels, finally escalated it only to be palmed off with joke responses.

I have no idea what that deleted message said or if it warranted suspension, but based on this thread their anger is justifiable.

That’s disappointing. Did the post really contain a bannable offense? FT should at least try to mediate with loyal users (Founding Member and regular investors) in private before they consider a ban.

It was a strongly worded ask for the relevant documents. But nothing bad.

I guess it falls into that space where this is a marketing tool and not a social media platform and they just ban negative content.

Tbh I’ve been on the forum 2 1/2 years or so and I think most of the reliable voices here are no longer…

That’s a shame, honestly Boom was one of the few decent contributors here (and apparently my 2nd most liked) who actually posted thoughtful critical responses, rather than just going with the flow.

I was hoping this forum could be a helpful place for new investors, but it’s just trending towards just another venue to pump uncontested confirmation bias on a few overhyped stocks and Freetrade itself.

To play devil’s advocate here, I’d rather the team not waste a single second of time on non-value adding tasks, such as retrieving the Confirmation Statement, that will in due time be published on Companies House. The member claimed it would take no more than a few minutes to retrieve… maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, I don’t know. But my statement remains, I do not want my management team or any other member of the Freetrade team to waste a single second on this matter. I want my management team to be spending their precious time and brain power on crucial, value-adding activities.

I don’t understand why the member demanded this statement with such urgency anyways… Great, you’re a shareholder…
