Converting Freetrade account to ISA

(Henry) #1

I currently have a standard Freetrade account but would want to switch this to an ISA in the new tax year. Would I have to sell any investments in order to switch the account type or can this be done seamlessly?

Do basic orders queue sales before buys?

Yes you’ll need to sell your investments in order to switch to an ISA & then purchase them again once it’s open. Obviously you won’t pay any fees for those sales / purchases though, if you use basic orders.

Thanks, I’ll pause my schduled investments and hold as cash until then.
