Crowdcube just announced its launch of Cubex, a secondary market. It seems like it was also used as part of Freetrade‘s series B.

Exciting! There are some companies that I’ve invested in via Crowdcube that I’d like the opportunity to exit, and there are some businesses that have raised on Crowdcube that I missed out on, so i’m looking forward to taking part in this as both a buyer and a seller.

Powered by Cubex, 1,063 shareholders in Freetrade sold £5.8m of shares in 2021. The secondary share sale saw early investors celebrate a 47x (4,670%) return on their investment, with six shareholders becoming millionaires as the company valuation skyrocketed to £265m.

It looks much more like EquityZen or ForgeGlobal than a carbon copy of the Seedrs Secondary Market. Would be great if they rolled out both.
Seems that they intend to collect interest and then run dedicated, hyped/marketed campaigns to sell the shares. Likely easier to pull off with max. payoff in terms of fees for CC.
