Dividend payments today  Great to have USD income with the ÂŁ being weak.

Sorry stupid question. Does that mean we get more or less for the dividends?

More, a weakening pound is good for FX conversion.

More dividends. But fewer US or EU shares when buying.

Thank you I couldn’t get my head round it

But won’t you only get same amount and hasn’t the price already been agreed months ago? And haven’t got it as of yet so probably tomorrow
Unless people got theirs?

Not got mine yet either, and yes you are right, inthink the exchange rate they stated a few weeks ago was 3.44p for this dividend. So if the pound is still in the toilet for the next one it will be bigger.

Recent announcement from DEC they intend on buying back up to 10% of the shares and cancelling them.
Not sure where they are getting the money from?
Reduced dividends? that seems unlikely.

Biden to pay well plugging. Initially $560 but more to come.
Watched video on this but cant find it. One state was plugging about 12 wells a year but only emergency plugging. Oil leaks for instance. Showed film of people with wells in there garden which they were flaring. One family was heating the house with escaping methane. There is a huge amount of unplugged wells going back as the early 1900. Unkown locations.

Hello Freetraders,

Probably a daft question but I have a question about the share buyback.
Whose shares are they buying?
Will we lose shares and receive a payment in return?
Do we have to opt in to the share buy back programme?

For the record I think the Share buy back is a great idea while DEC benefit from both strong profits and the low GBP/USD Rate.

Whose shares are they buying? Anyone selling them on the stock market, after they get bought they are basically destroyed.
Will we lose shares and receive a payment in return? No
Do we have to opt in to the share buy back programme? No, they are not buying your shares.

After the buyback is done there will be fewer shares to distibute the dividend too, so hopefully we get a increase in the next years dividend payments.

Less shares also means a higher share price. This is the major advantage of buy backs a higher dividend and higher share price.

Again Diversified energy share price has fallen 4% although it may have risen again. Its because its exdivided.

Still down 3.5%
The dividend is less

Dividend just dropped. Happy reinvestment.

Hi all any ideas on why this one keeps dropping?

Although it shouldn’t make much difference (but tends to) it could be the general decline is linked to the US natural gas price

I think this has to do with the fact oil DEC gets from it wells are priced as WTI crude.
