[ENTIRE US MARKET OPEN 🇺🇸✅] 1st February 2021: Expect disruptions to US buy/sell orders today - what we’re doing to keep everything running

The short on TSLA is over 5 years so that isn’t the reason, TSLA is one of the most traded stocks by day Trader’s trying to pull a few dollars out of it each day that makes it more volatile and volatile stocks are what are harder to get hold of right now.

Please turn on ‘buy’ option for all other US stocks at least.

Keep refreshing the app and it will come online. US stock is becoming available. From what FT have said what they have done behind the scenes is actually quite remarkable to get trade through a throttled service from the FX.

I wouldn’t expect them too but worth a shot in asking, transparency will be key for FT reputation not to end up like RH.

I have no idea what the increased volume levels are, or the data needed to decide which stocks to list or not - I trust FT are doing the best they can given the options provided by their FX provider.

From what I can figure and I’m not in the know anymore than anyone else with the internet. The FX have throttle the amount of data that can go through them and what FT engineers have done is enabled better compression to get the trade through in less data enabling the volume of trade to return. I could be completely wrong but that’s what the evidence suggests.

How was this sorted? I cant buy any us??

It’s sorted, it’s just taking time to catch up. It’s not ideal for anyone.

Seeing this frenzy happen in real time 100% sets in stone that thousands of uninformed ppl are going to get burnt and their reasoning will not even make sense. Then they’ll blame everything and everyone else but themselves.

It’s like the people who were inspired by FYRE festival have flooded here.

Ah, if that is the case, then FT would have done an excellent job in adapting to limitations forced upon them.

It’s really awful to see the FX provider have so much control. I hope blockchain developers solve this issue soon, rather than the years/decades it probably will take to provide decentralised alternatives.

I am bit worried about this where you are stopped buying certain stocks just because Clearing houses or whoever have an issue and have decided to throttle and completely ban purchasing Stocks!?
What will happen when and if there is market crash and you decide to try and dump the stocks but are prevented in doing so due to “technical” glitches while meanwhile big Funds & firms are able to do that!? Or if there some news that maybe you want to jump in and buy but again system “breaks” down.

This is not complaint about Freetrade as in my opinion they have handled this better than any other platform from what I have seen and read about but it is just in general worry with all this Fintech platforms and including established brokers who are doing the same.

This entire saga has me worried and have possible put me off in buying individual stocks which is shame as I need Shares ISA this year and have opened Freetrade account last week. It may be one off or it may happen again. Who knows!
