Can someone tell me what this means in English please lol
If I’ve understood correctly, this is what it means.
RASP Group are a part of Evraz and there was due to be a demerger between the two around October 2022. Evraz would have remained on the British stock exchange while RASP would trade on the Moscow exchange. As part of this demerger, all Evraz shareholders were going to receive 0.42 RASP shares for each Evraz share they held. Because FreeTrade cannot support the stock exchange, however, FreeTrade were going to sell these shares and give users the proceeds.
What the notice is saying is that this demerger has been cancelled at least for now. Therefore, there won’t be any RASP shares to be distributed and Evraz shareholders will not receive this expected windfall.
Also I should image if the Evraz stock every starts trading on the stock exchange again, it should take into account the cancelled Demerger and the stock should go up (you would Think)
I had stock before the RASP Demerger and it dropped over 30% for correction , but giving the current situation it could be a long time if ever before we will see the stock trading again ?
Just playing the waiting game … for now
We are all just waiting. No one has a choice due to the suspension. I’ve written my money of in my head. If it ever gets sorted and starts to trade again that is a bonus.
agreed
Sooo theyve just been added to the saction list due to selling steel for rail track to russia. Seems mental considering the whole of europe still buys gas from there, but who am i to conplain
Ive asked in the app about what might happen to our shares but wondered if anyone here had any ideas?
To be honest, I’m just waiting it out as we have no choice but to do really. I bought my first shares when it was over £5 and then bought during the dips and succeeded in hoovering up some when they were 53p so I’ve lost quite a bit on current share price, never mind if it goes under. A lot will depend on how lucky we are once this nasty situation with Ukraine gets resolved one way or another. I’m going to hope that Evraz recovers and the shareprice goes up, then I will be in for a massive profit. However, I am also prepared for the fact that the company may shut up shop in which case I’ve lost the £60 or so I put into it!
I have about £70 left and invested £800 approx so big lost completely if goes up if allow to trade eventually could be ok but ATM it’s not even worth thinking about!
Interesting, thank you. Assuming Evraz is still under sanctions which means not much can be done anyway.
Well this doesn’t seem great.
I think I’ve reached the conclusion that any return of investment we get from Evraz will be both a bonus and a long time coming!
To receive share certificates shareholders are advised to consult their stockbroker and ensure that proper instructions are given to Computershare prior to the Termination Date.
Dear FT. How are going to manage this situation
So does this mean that 18th aug (termination date) we lose all our shares?
And do we Habe two transfer or sell them before that date via freetrade @freetrade
I asked FT. We will still own them. See the reply below
Rest assured, our Corporate Actions team will inform you once more updates are available. Regardless, you will still remain the legal. owner of the shares. However, let me check this with the team for more details.
Hopefully we will find out answers! Suppose while the war is still going on its still going to be suspended
But this could be years of turmoil?
If I’m to fully lose my investment I’d rather just know straight away
Reading that, it’s more the agreement between ‘sharecomputer’ & evrax has come to an end… They may have have exception to continue working with evrax whilst the existing contract was in place.
They’re now not managing the records of share ownership, it’s now managed by Evrax directly.
The paper records would be used to show record of ownership should anything happen Evraz’s own records
So it’s handed of to the Russians? Excellent that then
Maybe, maybe not.
This might be a fallout ofsharecomputer wary of doing new business with a company being sanctioned.
But the longer it goes on, is there a chance for evraz to start up again?
