What’s the reason behind the monster dividend in August? Will this be repeated, it’s out of character.

Roman was happy that Chelsea won the Champions League and shared his happiness maybe? :joy:

They’ve paid monster dividends before, I’d guess it something to do with free cash flow. i.e. if they have a lot of cash they return some to shareholders.

That’s far too sensible an answer :stuck_out_tongue: :+1: it was good and I think 13.7% this year.

Based upon the financial performance of the business, the Board may consider a higher distribution level,

Thanks @Dave - it was a bit out of character from the last 4-5 dividends I’d seen. Wondering if I might jump on the bandwagon if it’ll happen again.

Continuing the discussion from Evraz plc :pick: (£EVR):

Anyone holding aware of the RASP deserter and looking to understand what this will mean i assume we get the demerger value as Russian shares are not in freetrade

Is anyone sales looking at buying now or will this dip continue?

Is anyone able to explain a little about the demerger?

I understand we’ll receive a return on the new shares generated by the new listing (as RASP won’t be available on Freetrade) but what happens to our Evraz holding? Does the amount of shares we hold decrease in line with how many RASP shares we should be getting, or do we lose them altogether?

TIA

What’s happening with Evraz? I had a message from Freetrade 10minutes ago about a change in the London exchange

I don’t understand the full intricacies of the demerger, however nothing will happen to your Evraz holding. If you have 10 shares now, it will be the same after the demerger.

Thanks Paul.

The message I received (and presume all shareholders did) stated that we’d get 0.42 shares of RASP for every EVRAZ share held but that Freetrade don’t support Russian stocks, so we’ll receive whatever the monetary value of them is at the point of sale.

I assume we just consider that a shareholder bonus.

Thanks again. :+1:t2:

Yeah but the Rasp holding won’t be executed until October 2022. By then Russia could have invaded Ulkraine, been hit by sanctions, and we might not get anything:-) Worse case scenario:-)
Why is this in October?

Yeh, but as Monty Python’s Life of Brian taught me ‘you come from nothing, You’re going back to nothing, What have you lost? Nothing’

Or the situation could have been resolved, sanctions averted and prices stabilised.

Of course.

Point is that that our liberty to sell has been removed. I prefer to sell on the 16th.

Who decided I could not sell and instead ought to hold until October? Was this Freetrade?

That’ll be a question to ask the brokerage team from Freetrade, I doubt they picked a October out of thin air. My guess would be a lock up on the demergered company to stop all the Evras shareholders dumping the new company.

Pretty sure Freetrade are just following information given to them. Why would they invent a rule of no trading during a certain period?
