If that’s true and Freetrade is ‘looking out for us’, doesn’t that blur the lines on investment advice? It could be seen as Freetrade advising not to buy the stock.
Personally, I’ve done my research and I know the risk, so if I want to invest I shouldn’t be restricted by Freetrade (unless the company shares are restricted by government sanctions that is).
I really hope Evraz and polymetal are available on Monday.
I’m only guessing but they have a duty of care to make sure that they do not act against your best interests. They cannot give you a price for this stock so it’s not wild to suggest that they’ll hold off and let you buy argain in Monday morning.
I’ve raised this with some people so we might get an official answer but it is the weekend and they don’t officially work.
Nope. Read the FCA guidelines on this rather than taking a phase and assuming you can tell what the rule is. They are explicit at defining what advice is and importantl isn’t.
Wait until Monday morning for the markets to open and then decide if you think it’s a good investment. If you’re happy to pay any price then I personally will sell you shares in Evraz shares for £75 each. Comment below and I’ll queue you a basic order with
DinoTrade
We’ll let you financially cripple yourself to prove a point about being told what to do
Thanks you for your kind offer but I hold all the shares in Evraz I require I don’t even want to buy shares in it on Monday.
I just find it strange they will stop us buying this or poly metal but I can buy Eurasia another share that could dive on Monday so fts looking out for my interests seems to be patchy at best if indeed that is what they are doing.
And it doesn’t explain the fact you can’t see them in discovery if ft have removed the option to buy the shares they should say so and explain why.
For the record, I’m not “taking a phase and assuming you can tell what the rule is”, I’m simply asking a question. My understanding is that Freetrade is an execution only broker, so to remove access to a company’s shares because they don’t think it’s in an investor’s best interest, to me, could blur the lines. Freetrade also isn’t promoting investors to invest into the company, so I don’t see how there could be any suggestion they’re not acting in investors best interests by offering access to the company shares.
I’m a retail investor and I don’t suggest to be an expert, which is why I use the community to ask questions.
Thank you for your offer, but I’ll respectfully decline.
I don’t want them to look out for me. We all know stocks can up and down. Taking stocks options away without having been ordered to by the government isn’t right. I want an app to buy and sell stocks, not a nanny telling me what I can and can’t do with my own money.
Hi
I can’t find EVRAZ should I have premium account to buy shares like EVRAZ?
About the EVRAZ - its a UK company but the mines are in Russia the big risck here is not the sanctions - the big risk is if Russia cancel the mining concessions
