I was thinking more like £2.50, but perhaps I’m being too optimistic! Last round the value was £18m, so I imagined something like 50m-100m because they now have gone from 0 to > 20k customers and have a product to sell on both platforms but we’ll know soon enough. Anyone care to guess on the next round valuation? Previous round was 18m.

There’s a long road ahead before we’d be able to sell these shares whatever the nominal value, so best not to get too excited yet as gains are all on paper.
Sorry, it looks like I should have added 150m for the optimists among us. Looks like 100m is the consensus, please do post your guess if > 100m. All just for fun of course and we’ll find out the real figure from freetrade at the end of the month.
How did you guys find out about Freetrade’s R1? I didn’t hear about them until R3 and would love to be there that early for future fintechs.
Congrats btw!
The last valuation was very fruity given what they had achieved at that point (hadn’t yet released the product) so you have to assume this valuation will be on the fruity end too.
For me the total number of users is too low for a massive change, is there any evidence the app is going viral? How many on the waiting list converted? How many of the users are active weekly, monthly?
There’s also a big threat from Revolut and Robinhood on the horizon and HL can lower their costs to retain their customers.
However, there is loads of money sloshing around in VCs and PE aimed at Fintechs and you have to assume that the phone is ringing off the hook at Freetrade HQ with money wanting to invest (and some of these aren’t too price sensitive).
It’s this last point that lands me at a valuation of around 80m. That would be high for where the company is at but a VC would be pleased to get 10% of Freetrade for 8m.
1m went in 12 minutes last time, setting the initial amount so low is already raising my anxiety levels. What is the thought behind that?
I don’t understand how the investment platform is different from what you have already. Is it just joining up disparate systems or something more so you could, for example, white label the product?
ooh, the consensus is now clearly closer to 50m after some more votes this morning.
I think when crowdfunding people see overfunding as a sign of success, and thus invest, so it is always better to lowball the target amount, and overfund instead. It’s unfortunate but not a reality freetrade can ignore, so the target is not as important as the limit I guess.
I have a couple of question related to this:
What is the investment cap on the round going to be?
It’s been mentioned in an email to existing investors, not sure if it’s being held back for some reason though so will wait for someone from Freetrade to respond.
