Thanks. I saw R1 on the Crowdfunding site and just thought what a great project it was and I had £1k to invest in something speculative like this.
In hindsight I wish I went with £3k when they asked me but hopefully my £1k R1 will still make me a lot of money.
Is there a maximum amount you can invest?
Monzo e.g had a 2Kpp limit
Good stuff:
“We are also raising new capital to scale our customer acquisition to a new level. To date, it’s been driven by word of mouth, and we’ve grown 7% on a weekly basis since late last year. It’s time to supercharge that by expanding our growth channels. One of the first channels we will invest in is incentivised referrals.”
Will this round be EIS qualifying?
We are waiting to hear back from HMRC. We will share more details as soon as we have them!
Is Freetrade be too big for EIS, or do we still fit?
When the shares are issued, the company must:
- Have gross assets of less than £15m, and no more than £16m immediately after the share issue
- Have fewer than 250 ‘full time equivalent’ employees
We anticipate a positive answer from HMRC, but obviously can only confirm when we hear back. We’ll update you as soon as physically possible!
What are the conditions/details on the private mode for community members?
Oh, and will you be able to invest in app, like the monzo raise?
Not this time, you’ll invest via the Crowdcube website. We’ll share more details about how to register for a Crowdcube account etc. soon.
Who will be able to participate in the ‘Community Private Mode’ if that’s happening this time?
I became a member, and joined the forum yesterday. Hoping I get a chance, missed out on the early rounds at Monzo due to being unlucky in the draw
Everyone who’s a Freetrade user, community member or joined our waitlist will be able to participate in the ‘private mode’ early access to invest.
You should receive an email update about the crowdfunding tonight. So if you don’t, head to our website & submit your email address there - or you could do that again now to make sure you’re on the list
Thanks Alex, was just wondering if they may have been a cut off
Added my email to the list!
Good point - no there’s no cut off time - we just need your email address by the 24th.
I hope not! We have quite a few foreign investors already so I assume it won’t be a problem. But I’ll double check for you
Looking forward to the email! refresh , refresh , refresh
Anyone got the crowdfunding email yet? I’m nervous I’ve missed it
No, I normally get the emails so I’m not sure what’s going on
Few! Maybe it’ll sneak in our inboxes overnight
