FT share price - IG agrees to acquire Freetrade 2025

Yeah that was definitely the time to exit.
Same boat missing it but glad to be out now.

So my stock certificates state “Series B shares (NOMINEE)” (maybe 2.08 or 2.60 per share), and I also have a certificate which says “B Investment Shares (nominee)” (maybe £1.19 per share).

This is from the email confirming sale prices, which value would be assigned to my shares above?

  • A Ordinary shares and B Investment shares will receive approximately £1.19 per share.
  • Series B1 shares will receive £2.08 per share.
  • Series B3 shares will receive £2.60 per share.

Any help would be appreciated as it is not 100% clear.

These are the crowdfunding rounds and depending on which series you were a part of you will be entitled to different amounts.

Wait didn’t FT acquire some company recently?

I found this in one of the documents:

No idea about the B1 shares.

I participated in three rounds with an average share price of £3.57. It turned out to be a total disaster as an investment losing more than 65% of my original investment.

Ah, so what are A shares going to then?

Now the silence makes more sense

Agreed it is a very bad deal for us FREETRADE Shareholders. Think I bet on the wrong Horse with this one, I never saw a buyout on the cards, Funny how these things work isn’t it

I bought 215 (B class)shares through Crowdcube in November 2021 and the cost was £9.21 per share, total investment. £1997.98. I thought they would float the company, cannot believe the loss! Very unimpressed

Hi Viktor ! As Freetrade user 5,481 and an investor in an early round, I am very proud to have backed a company that has sold for over 100mil and I think you are an exceptional entrepreneur that has delivered a good outcome for the business and many of your shareholders, even if it has resulted in a financial loss to me. Your have navigated challenging times to achieve this and achieved a solid valuation in the face of rapidly challenging markets. You should be recognised as a great contribution to not just UK, but the fintech society as a whole, and I would back your next business in a heartbeat and would encourage others to also. @Viktor

There has to be a sweetheart deal where previous investors in Freetrade receive some preferential pricing going forward or that capital will be pulled from the platform out of principle. Happy to hear from the Team what the plan is there…
The sale price with IG may reflect the expectation of a capital drain out of protest

I think it does, there will obviously have been scenario testing and as a result I don’t expect any preferential treatment.

I have six figures on the platform but am considering alternative options for next financial year.

It would have been mentioned in the email if there was.

I doubt many investors are going to be staying with FT. Sad to see how quickly things can take a bitter turn.

See you all on 212! Hopeful I can get transferred over before my yearly subscription is due.

212 must be rubbing their hands, 1st Vanguard changing their fee structure and now Freetrade shafting all their Crowd Funders, the champagne will be flowing.

I’m not that much of a fan of T212, just have a small investment on there, but it’s looking like the best of a bad bunch, if only for me to express my disgust in FT.

Those of you considering moving to 212 are you accepting the £17 FT fee per US stock for in specie transfer or selling these stocks to either transfer as cash or buy into an ETF to remain in the market?

I only have English shares and ETFs currently in ISA Neil so apologies I cant advise. My only concern would be if you sell and transfer as cash Freetrade are no doubt going to be horrendously slow at processing all of these transfers and you may miss out on gains.

That was exactly my thoughts so was thinking of selling and buying an S&P500 ETF until it transfers and then decide whether to buy back into the individual stocks.
