Yes, just thought I would say it as basically as possible for the other user
Technically there are two dates, and you only need to hold it on the ex-dividend date

Got my first Dividend! - 71p from Manchester United of all people!
Don’t judge me, i’m a Man U fan and this is my one vanity stock, perhaps one day i’ll have enough shares to oust the Glazers?
I wonder how many shares you’d have to own to equal a dividend of a season ticket
(Not sure how often they typically pay)
Good idea, get them to pay you to watch them.
Dividend is around 0.09/ share, paid twice a year. (For some reason Yahoo finance puts it at 0.14p a yr.)
A season ticket is about £950, anyone less lazy/ smarter than me willing to work out how many shares that would be?
Discounting the all the recent dividend cancellations which have messed it up a bit, I already get more in dividends from insurance companies than I pay out in insurance for house and cars every year
10,555 shares!
Investment of £182,179.3 at the current price
Bargain!
That won’t quite cover one week of Harry Maguire’s salary!
Aye. Less than half that of Sanchez
