Anyone got any idea why this is dropping? Have they cut the dividend?
I havenāt heard of a cut, there was something in the news at the end of last year about regionalising electricity prices. If they have a lot of wind farms in Scotland it might reduce the price they get for generated electric
Storm incoming this weekend, seems sentiment across the whole sector is dire, no choice but to wait for a turnaround. I wish the companies would give us more updates like a monthly report and fact sheet. TRY does this and itās most helpful, however that is another share that has declined alot since late September, interest rates expectations alot to blame.
I think they finished their buyback this week and their average price for share was ~1.20. Price should stabilise now. Iāll be buying some more while itās low.
Same here letās keep a low price at least until after payday
So the update is in now. Some good news some bad I say. Iām happy they aim to increase the dividend by too every year, but Iām not sure where the growth will come from if they keep selling off assets. Hereās hoping they know what they are doing.
More buybacks again today. I wonder if they have a target shares in issue? (I.e under 2bn?)
Also I just noticed they arenāt disposing of the shares they are putting them in treasury. I wonder when or if they will cancel some of them.
If they cancel them, doesnāt that mean they would have to issue more equity in the future? If that was an avenue they wanted to go down. If they keep them, they could sell them in the future, but doubt this will ever trade on a premium while rates are elevated.
Right just bought some more this morning so I now own 2500 shares.
Iāve reached my target for now but I reckon Iāll buy some more in the future.
Just bought some more couldnāt resist. I reckon anything under 1.2 is a bargain for this share. Donāt forget the ex dividend date on the 13th Feb
Same. Averaged up to £1.15. UKW is my only stock in the green for renewables. NESF/ORIT also up this year though. Hopefully lower borrowing costs makes it a good year for these stocks.
1.15 nice Iāve never seen it that low. I originally bought in around the 1.32 mark and then sold at 1.44 for a quick profit. Bought back in again at 1.25 and have averaged down to 1.21.
My other renewable share GSF is down but hey ho at least I can buy shares at a good discount.
Ex div day tommorow everyone top up today if you want the dividend. The price always seems to drop on ex div day. Iām already heavy into UKW so wonāt be topping up for a while (Iāll reinvest the dividend).
I topped up today, sold something else that had appreciated over the last month, hold 7900 shares now, aiming for 10k. Should provide a nice steady income (not required yet) I just prefer dividend paying stocks as you donāt really need to ever sell them, takes timing out of the equation.
Hopefully stays a bargain for sometime to come, maybe tomorrow it will fall more than the dividend so itās another excuse to add more .
Wow 7900 shares that will be a nice earner hope they are all in an ISA :).
Iāve got 2920 at the moment but wouldnāt hesitate to buy more of them. I prefer dividend paying shares myself as well.
They are down around 7% currently from when I started purchasing them so timing hasnāt been great, Iāve seen one quarter of dividend payments, so thatās a couple of % back. Like many I got interested in these renewables due to their discounts, I think theyāre fantastic value, time will tell.
The hard things with shares is seeing the long term, I find Iāve had the best success with dividend paying shares, I especially like TRY aswell.
Disappointing drop this morning I mistakenly believed 1.19 was the bottom. Iāll buy another 500 worth tommorow.
Being in the red means I donāt want to sell and only want to add . Itās the green ones I always want to sell (to fund the reds)
.
Good top up opportunity IMO.
Completely expected to me. dividend of 2.5p on a price of 117.9 means on ex div day should be 115.4, currently sitting at 115 ish so no big deal.
The share buyback programme has now completed according to todayās ONS.
Letās see what affect this has on the share price
