Letβs see how long the dividends take this timeβ¦
Anyoneβs guess. I only have a few dozen shares anyway. Still thinking of buying more though.
Β£8.69 dividend payment has arrived in my account
Gotta say Iβm impressed how quick the payment has landed this time.
Out of interest how will this stock be affected once Hong Kong fully becomes part of the Chinese mainland?
Currently Hong Kong is in a transion period after the end of British rule to ultimately become part of the Chinese mainland.
Does anyone know how the stock will be affected, of at all?
Arguably Hong Kong is pretty much integrated with China now, especially with the crackdown on freedom of speech in the last few years and their elections no longer being free, effectively just a puppet government selected by the CCP at this point.
HSBC does generally get more than half its gross profit from China and Hong Kong, 53%~ in 2023 and 75% in 2022 - London Stock Exchange | London Stock Exchange
It does pretty much rely on the good will of the CCP and is tip toeing around the geopolitical aspects at play.
Thatβs probably where the main risk is
