just a really quick and easy one (I hope) but is there a way to change the date my ISA subscription comes out of my account? I’ve recently done a bit of life admin and am trying to get all of my direct debits & subscriptions out on the day same.
If it’s a standing order, then you should simply be able to change it in your Internet banking, if a direct debit, then I would have thought Freetrade would do that for you if you contact them. At worst, you could cancel the direct debit and set up a new one.
It’s charged to a credit/debit card so If you use a credit card you can switch your ISA payment to it so that it is collected with the monthly DD. Credit card providers often let you select a date where the monthly DD is taken
It’s a direct debit. I’ve checked my online account and it doesn’t give me the option to change the date it comes out. Perhaps I just need to ask FreeTrade directly. Thanks guys!
We only support paying subscription fees by credit or debit card. We do not support direct debits. Unfortunately, the date is fixed from the date you first purchase the subscription and cannot be changed.
Moving billing dates is something we’re keen to take a look at, but isn’t straightforward (we have to pro-rate your subscription payments depending on whether you’re going forward or backward) so it might not come for a while!
I’m not a lawyer but I assume so. Instead you get a second set of protections that comes with your credit/debit card.
The subscription fees aren’t large enough to be covered by the strongest protection, Section 75, but you can ask your bank to reverse payments taken fraudulently, taken incorrectly, or if you weren’t provided the service. This is called a chargeback.
However, the customer support team here are keen to make sure you’re happy with your subscription. I’d recommend speaking to them first!
