Mmm I should of received more money unless I bought some after the ex div before I sold them to rebuy in the isa
I think ex div date was 24th August. Are you sure you donāt have a payment in your GIA?
I have the payment itās just lower than what I thought it should be, itās in the gia but no like notifications or history of who paid it etc on activity tab.
Itās OK I looked at all my share buys and calculated them up it works out so all good
Isa dropped in just now.
Does anyone know how this divided is supposed to work, I donāt have a massive holding, just a little over Ā£200, I assumed with a divided of 8% I would recive around Ā£16 but I am really new to this so who knows
So the 8% rate will be annual and this is the second dividend payment this year so you wonāt be getting Ā£16. If you look in the dividend section in the app the latest payment is Ā£0.0571 per share which works out about 2.5% depending on how much you paid for your shares.
Cheers didnāt even realise that section was there, makes so much more sense to me now
Before I woke up properly, I thought exactly the same (and assumed divi would be 50% of annual yield).
Checked the previous divi, coffee hit brain and realised that the previous divi + this divi came to about 8% as expected.
Recently got a TENT dividend in T212. It was paid in 2 parts. One Ordinary dividend and the other interest.
TENT pays some of its dividends (the majority) as streamed interest. Nice of them to break it down for me. I am liable to tax on the Ordinary dividends but not streamed interest. Saved me 5 minutes of working out!
Just a reminder for everyone that the dividend yield is a BACKWARDS-looking metric and not one you can rely on. It is calculated by taking the last 12 monthsā dividends and dividing it by the current price. If your average price is different your personal yield will be different. The same applies when they raise or reduce future dividends but this wonāt show in the yield for sometime
Donāt know why you selling and then buying? I understand now as itās dropped today but it was higher when div was announced and surely losing what you would gain from divs!?
This was always a keep and long term but/hold anyway! Probably brings a buying opportunity if does drop even lower
No I sold everything in my gia to rebuy in my isa. I thought I was due more because the shares I had but then calculated it back and seen I bought some shares after the ex div as it was just my usual monthly buy some l and g.
But no I havenāt like bought sold bought sold just sold once and bought back into the company again in the isa
Sets you up better for the future. Now its done, thats it sorted
Feels like there is a good buying opportunity with companies such as L & G, Aviva etc at the moment with these little dips
Added .9% to mine to average down more
added 20 shares today. Average at £2.35
got a feeling this is going nowhere fast but happy to collect a 9% div.
Thanks for sharing. Iām happy to grab some cheaper shares for a sustained period of time. This is long hold for me
