What would you prefer Neil, them keep it or the share buy backs maybe on offer and the money invested in other places with the 500m drip fed over the 5 years as well?

It says we will be sad about it but the majoirty buy legal and general for long term as far as I see.

Hi @Kiava it would have been nice for them to have received the full payment up front, but as you say this probably wasn’t viable. Spreading it over 5 years at least means there is a steady income coming in instead of a lump sum.

Spread out payment might keep the dividend up for a little bit longer? I don’t consider this a long term holding given the dividend cover.

Exactly Neil, I read back my responce Jesus I need to wear reading glasses up very close lol. Half of it never made sence then I repeated a section twice lol.

I get double vision a lot due to being long sighted even wearing glasses I can go cross eyed at times.

I think legal will be one that I contuine to buy for the foreseeable future.

Why don’t you see it as a long term hold? Just wondering as I went through a good few feeds, many many analysts from many platforms state it’s a long term stock.

So just wondering your thoughts.

I’m meaning long term as in 8-10yrs+. Over the last 10 years there’s been no real growth so for me it’s a question of how long it will remain a decent value stock. Currently the dividend is around 20p and the EPS is 7p so this isn’t going to be sustainable. This was also indicated by an article in IC a couple of months ago, don’t have the issue any more but it was suggesting holding for a handful of years if I remember correctly.

Ahh I get you now and to be honest when I did look at the graphs back when I started investing in 2021 I also was like why doesn’t the price move much, then everyone harped on about divs being high and everyone always had good words to say about this stock.

Its also good it’s cheap enough and it’s one of those things after I buy my etfs etc if I can’t buy another and have change left I fling it into here and some other stocks below.

Just my opinion and yes I agree long term without good growth the dividend may go down at some point, but the company has good assets and has the ability to grow and hopefully make the dividend more sustainable.

But hey I am just gonna keep taking the dividends and enjoy it, if it does drop dividends at some point I will have had a good amount while it lasts.

But as I see this as a long term hold just gonna stay for the ride and book all the dividends as my profits.

Guess so then when the divs drop hope you get in fast on the major sell off haha. I don’t have lots in this stock anyway as I said change goes in or I put £100 here or there.

I don’t have a huge amount but tend to do top ups when it drops a bit.

Yeah I got about 100 shares at the £2.13. I actully bought 1 share before I did the next to test the market spread price etc to see what I might get or if it’s jumped and got on the next trade instant.

I didn’t have a limit buy because that’s the day the drop happened and that’s why I’m always on and off the app waiting for good moments.

I hold 1k of shares permanently and then buy and sell up to an extra 200.

Untill it drops the dividends under 5% I will more likly just keep holding.

Nice, mine looks bad at £2.31 and a loss of over £85.

But, the last dividend was £105. This and that the original shares bought durring covid have been sold the average is wrong for the all time average.

Thats exactly why I have a separate spreadsheet where I adjust the cost price after every sale or purchase and which also includes the stamp duty paid on the shares that way I always have an accurate list of what I own and how much the profit or loss is and total dividends for each share.
