Less bump at the pump

UK Supermarkets to be forced to show live fuel prices online.

Will it lower prices? Time will tell. Transparency is always a good thing, surely?

BBC News - Supermarkets forced to publish live fuel prices to cut costs

The obscene double/triple/stealth tax rate on fuel is the real major problem rather than to penny here, three penny there which petrol stations try to extract from over the barrel customers.

The majority of us fill the car up to get to work and run our business so we can pay our at least 33% tax rate on income to keep the UK economy going and the actual small amount we have spare for other lesuire activities the government are telling us we should be driving less so we are gunna tax you again with an emissions tax.

And in order to power your car we are gunna tax it again via the fuel at 52.9p fuel duty and then 10.59p in VAT. Then of course theres corporation tax on all those business associated with fuel.

Totally agree we are taxed to oblivion.

Its crazy to think how much of your earnings actually go to tax one way or another.

Competition only benefits the consumer when comparisons are easy to make. With high street bakeries you need to possess taste-buds, with fuel, you need an easy and instant app on your phone.

Now there is a business opportunity!

… Google should have it the bag with their mapping systems. Maybe a collaboration with Money Supermarket?
