Nutmeg Crowdfunding on Crowdcube

I’m guessing it’s to gauge demand for investment caps, or plan how to run the raise without crashing Crowdcube.

I am in the same boat I think

Do you know what is the current valuation set for this round ?

I don’t think it’s been announced yet.

The pitch is live in private mode with a pre-money valuation of £251 million.

Now fully funded.

They have this on their pitch page - hardly seems ideal for crowdfund investors.

That was quick. I agree, the rewards are nuts, the minimum investment amount is a awkward £77. I won’t publish it here but there are some surprising figures in the pitch deck.

How much did they raise?

£1,118,656 million so far, target was £1,000,000

Currently sitting at just over 1 million and into overfunding.

I am amazed at how they have managed to put a 24 page pitch deck together with no financials at all. Just a load of figures about how big their potential market is.

Had I not discovered Freetrade recently I think I’d be putting money into Nutmeg, but the educational jump required to go from Nutmeg to just buying ETFs on Freetrade is so small I really don’t see how they will survive in the future.

This doesn’t surprise me so much as the roboadvisor space is super competitive but someone has requested financials in the discussions section.

They do share some headline figures like percentage of big accounts.

I know some smart, successful people who just don’t want to do this themselves. They’d rather let someone else handle it for them. Nutmeg’s easily the biggest roboadvisor operator in the UK. They might pick up loads of people moving away from the Woodford thing.

True. For disclosure I currently have a nutmeg account  It was my way into investing, but I plan to move my portfolio to freetrade once they sell all the ETFs I’d like to purchase.

Just compared Nutmeg’s all time returns as given in its pitchdeck to £VWRL for the same period (30 Sep 2012 - 30 Apr 2019)

Nutmeg (risk 10 portfolio) - 76% returns
£VWRL - 94% returns

Is anyone willing to DM me the private link please?

A bit annoyed as I pre-registered a while back but wasn’t made aware they had launched privately

My jaw hit the floor when I read what percentage of their assets are held by customers investing £100k and £250k+… how do these people have so much money and yet make such uneducated financial decisions!!! - no justice in the world! lol

Hi there,

How did you manage to get access to private mode? I pre- registered a few months ago, and I also have both crowdcube and nutmeg accounts and didn’t receive any link to their pitch. Would you mind to share the link if possible?

It’s probably in your spam email, it was for me. Have pm’d you the link anyway

Does anyone know if crowdcube had any issues with nutmeg latest crowdfunding round.Hopefully everything went smoothly which should be a good sign that they have fixed the issues that affected Freetrade previous round.

I seriously doubt they had the same level of interest that Freetrade had
