Question on transfers (Vanguard)

I understand you can in-specie in and out UK securities.

Does Vanguard and iShares count as UK Securities, or Irish Securities? For example VFEG.

And therefore, is there a fee to transfer out?

I’m fairly sure I’ve transferred Ireland-domiciled ETFs in-specie both in and out of FT without fees.

I think the only thing that matters is if it’s London listed. I’m not sure of the score with European-listed securities and transferring though.

Morning @TInvest

You’ll be able to transfer in/out in specie London-listed ETFs like the one you mentioned. There aren’t any fees on these transfers.

The only fee that can arise with a transfer out is related to US listed shares. The US central securities depositary charges a fee per line of stock to transfer between accounts. We pass this fee on when processing transfers out to cover the cost at a rate of £17. NOTE: I got this mixed up earlier and said it was $17 US. That was a mistake! We don’t make anything from this fee regardless, it’s all passed directly on to our US broker dealer.

We don’t (right now) offer the ability to transfer European listed shares in specie.

Would transferring £VUAG ETF to Vanguard incur a cost to me by Freetrade? From what I can see it wouldn’t but I’d like to be sure.

TIA

No there wouldn’t be any charge from us to transfer a holding in this ETF
