I personally don’t need to upgrade to a paid plan, as the reduction in fx fees and additional stocks are outweighed by the fees I would pay in a year. This did get me thinking though. Something that would make that subscription worthwhile for me would be bundling of third-party resources into that subscription, similar to the Revolut paid plans.
Naturally, this may have been suggested already, so please reassign the topic etc if need be.
I currently pay a bundled price for WSJ, Barrons and Market Watch. However, I would love to be able to subscribe to FT, for example, but the fees are much higher than the bundle price I paid for the three I mentioned above. I also make use of Simply Wall Street and have a subscription there. Could Freetrade offer more value in its subscriptions by negotiating with these types of companies to get better rates (as Revolut would have done for their paid plans) and offer a set selection, or even better, allow us to pick and choose which products we would like in our customised bundle. Or, perhaps a Freetrade subscription would get you a reduced price if the full price can’t be in the subscription without Freetrade making a loss.
Here are some of the products I personally like, use or would want to use if it was included in the subscription or came at a lower price:
WSJ/Barrons
Financial Times
Simply Wall Street
AlphaSense
Y Charts
Morningstar
Quartr
Sharesight
Especially the FT subscription. This is so expensive to buy alone that it almost makes it worthwhile signing up to Revolut premium plans just to get the FT.
It would also attract older users and those with larger portfolios.
We find the bundling idea interesting. Too early to say anything more, but please keep the discussion going, and we are particularly interested in which bundled subs you all would find the most value in.
I also pay for revolute for the FT subscription but would love to have a bundle where you can get the Freetrade and other useful stuff with it as that would be a great addition and could generate more users as you would get more for your money.
