Just looked up the FTSE All World index on vanguard and around 10% is in EM. That’ll mean with the current strategy going forward I’d have 14% in EM.
Thanks for pointing that out I’ll tweak the FTSE EM index holding to 6% and therefore 10% of my overall portfolio will be exposed to EM. I’ll just put the other 4% into the S&P 500.
Just be aware that also many of the companies you seem to want to invest in that sit within the EM space are also listed in the US and so may appear in the FTSE All World Index, the S&P500 AND the FTSE EM Index.
I prefer reading blogs to watching vlogs/videos so good luck with yours.
I too was surprised at the amount of cash you were holding but thanks for explaining on this thread.
Is there a goal that you are wanting to achieve with your investments, be that a particular number (you don’t need to say!) or something for the future, eg new house, big holiday etc?
Hey weenie! Thank you very much, hopefully you like what I have to say!
I’d say that my main goal for my investments are to enable me to live a life with no financial worry. I’m aiming to have a decent sized share portfolio which hopefully over 20/30/40 years can compound. I don’t have a figure in my head as such however I’m looking to invest for the long-term.
Hi everyone, me again! I’ve posted my portfolio update for May 2020 going into more detail with my future plans. Now I’m going to enjoy VE day with a few beers in the sun!
Have a great bank holiday
Hey everyone! Today I’ve released a new blog post on my portfolio update for June 2020 where I go through my latest additions and show you how my investments are performing!
