2021 (crowd-)funding round?

Hi all!

Is there any news if and when we will see a new funding round in 2021? With the steallar rise of users numbers that was published earlier today, revenue and related to that valuation, must have risen a lot since last year.

IIRC this was originally on the roadmap for December 2020. Any chance of an update?

Update would be great

Just joined Freetrade last week and I’m interested in joining the crowdfunding
Is there a usual time and place when it gets announced?

Any updates on the crowdfunding round for 2021? Looking forward!

You can rest assured that as soon as there is news this community will jump straight on it :+1:

My biggest concern is that I won’t be able to sell everything within my Freetrade ISA, get the funds cleared then withdraw them to my bank account, have that clear AND THEN have it ready to go into the crowdfunding.

I’m hoping there’s a good notice period before it happens.

Crowdcube has let me use Mastercard in the past so that give you an extra four weeks to arrange the funds before interest payment kick in.

Assuming it’s Crowdcube again there’s a 7 day cooling off period after purchase before they take the money.

Is it though? Not doubting this, but the recent crowdfunding news as I recall (back in March) put each Freetrade share at something around £5.

How do you know? Who said that? If there is no new raise, no new price can be established. All else is a guess. Some have more educated guesses by comparing to competitor’s raises, but it’s still a guess. And Ā£5 is surely too little given the massive increase in users since the last funding round.

Perhaps you’re right. I’d say we’ll have to see if anyone comments on that thread and offers Ā£10!

They asked for a message if interested, so personally if I was a buyer I would slide very smoothly and swiftly into their DMs rather than writing all over the forum that I am interested to buy them

Hopefully the seller will update to let us know if Ā£10 got any interest…

I know from my experience buying and selling Monzo shares over the years that most people need a lot of reassurance and handholding before trading privately. If the last known price was Ā£3.77 then even if the business has moved on leaps and bounds and all the competitors have tripled in value the buyer will still want to ideally pay Ā£3.50 or Ā£4 if they’re eager. In order for them to grow a pair and offer Ā£10 they need the company to announce they’ve closed a round at Ā£11, then they’ll snap your hand off for Ā£10.

Maybe freetrade shares are different though - what with all the seasoned investors on board, although I doubt it.

What makes you so confident they’ll IPO in 2023?

There are already few fintech players of the size of Freetrade that completed an IPO in the Uk…For example Pension Bee

I don’t want to be ā€˜that guy’ and I full support the FT team and their vision but … EU expansion has been ā€˜coming for ages’.
