Freetrade crowdfunding round

I must have missed an important update but could someone kindly give an update on the status of the last crowdfunding round? I know I expressed interest to invest but no funds were ever taken and no follow up was released. I saw chatter on the forum months ago about a possible acquisition but no update has been provided since then or I must have missed it. Any information provided would be appreciated!

The last round, which took place in September, is now closed.

If you expressed interest on Crowdcube, please contact them if you have any questions about this or your account.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I actually expressed interest and stated the investment amount. I never got a follow up email about the funds being withdrawn.

I read lots of chatter about the round being put on hold due to a possible acquisition.

Any clarity on the matter would be appreciated.

Hi @Olaotan - did you enter your details on all pages (incl card etc) or just expressed interest when the round was not live yet? If the latter, you would have had to go back and go through the usual Crowdcube steps.

If the former it’s worth picking up with team Crowdcube :eyes:

The September round concluded (and funds were subsequently taken from my card) prior to the acquisition chatter - which arose later.

Hi Leo,

As an existing investor I was given the opportunity to express interest before the round was made public and as i’ve made multiple investments on Crowdcube before my card details were already on file.

This is really strange as I didn’t even get the follow up alert that lets you know when they’re about to withdraw the funds from your account.

I just noticed that it happened for another investment as well.

Ah indeed sounds like a bit of a glitch in the system, @Olaotan

Same here - also investor since earlier rounds, did all work for me. Worth reaching out to the lovely Crowdcube team, they’re usually super fast to respond via email
