Help the amazing NHS staff, stay at home, avoid gatherings

Don’t know if anyone caught the White House Press conference there.

Trump pressed on why he is now calling it the ā€œChinese Virusā€ and bluntly answered ā€œbecause that’s who it came from and they know itā€ and used the word ā€œwarā€ continuously througout.

The bio weapon theory may be coming to fruition.

P.S on that news I’ve just taken advantage of the collapse in currency and scaled down position on 4 stocks that turned positive.

There is no big conspiracy or agenda. The health service has a finite capacity to look after sick people.
With all the support available, an infectious disease like Covid-19 will still have a certain mortality rate.
If you have no health care facilities then the mortality rate goes up by and order of magnitude that is eye watering.
When the case numbers breach our capacity to treat patients, any further patients will be living in a world similar to not having a healthcare system at all.
All the draconian measures will hopefully reduce the number of patients left untreated, to die without medical support.

can confirm, have had 3 today.

Buffett did preference share deals with Goldman and BoA (soon BoA Merrill Lynch). Let’s keep in mind that when attempting to copy his investing style none of us got access to those kind of deals.

The Chinese have a world market, they aren’t going to start taking their customers out. Corpses can’t buy goods

Did you see the front page of the FT:

Yeah, I think the bio-weapon theory is very ridiculous to be honest… why would they release it on their population to begin with?

This is inevitable, it will happen across the US too on a rolling basis as cities realise they can’t cope, not just on the coasts. Normal life will be suspended for some time. Not sure we have any good choices any more, certainly millions will die worldwide, not sure what the UK toll will be but I do hope older people are able to cope.

My theory on the high deaths in Italy is the prevalence of inter generational living means older people are more exposed after lock down cooped up with grandkids and extended family, so quarantine may even make things worse there if done too late. Work and home are the two most likely places to be exposed, paradoxically just walking down the street or in a park is pretty safe.
