Coronavirus and Stock Markets - Thoughts?

BBC - A quarter of the world’s population is now living under some form of lockdown.

Just closed my SHOP and NVDA position after they hit the green. 40% into cash now. Waiting to see if I can sell MSFT, the rest I may have to hold.

Edit: sold MSFT as well, at a marginal loss.

North Korea can enforce isolation, so if they act I think they will have a proportionally lower number of infections that countries in the west; On the other hand, among those infected, I will guess the mortality rate will be higher as the need of intensive care facilities is not met.

All is guesswork.

I will worry more about the US with leaders like Trump that are clueless, and putting the economy before human lives.

My thinking was:
because of the 10-20 labour camps they have, each home to thousands of people living in squalid conditions and barely eating enough to survive (let alone maintain a functioning immune system) that their death rate might be higher.
Then afterwards, once all their labourers have died, there will be more poverty, more starving and China won’t be in a position to bail them out this time.

Again, all guesswork, as you said.
I really do feel for them though.

I really don’t get people taking the P out of their own young kids on social media.

I mean, these are apparently also people who eat KFC or Nandos everyday. Not the peak of human evolution I’d say.

This interesting and exciting

All my shares are back in the green. Thanks to the US investment.
However, the US are also essentially completely ignoring the pandemic. I reckon in 2/3 weeks they will be the epicentre with massive deaths.

If all we are being told about the virus is correct then the tRump approach will end in tens of thousands of deaths. But they say its being managed state by state which is a little better than him being involved. He is capable of spinning his way out of it though.

If the orange buffoon got out ahead of this and demonstrated some leadership and compassion he would be a shoe in for term 2 at the Whitehouse.

Surely that would happen only through blind luck?

Maybe he’s not as idiotic as he seems - are the outbreaks in key democrat voting districts? :speak_no_evil:

Yeah ruthless calculations.

Main problem is he’s preventing States from receiving the federal aid they need by not signing off on things.
