What will you do when it gets to 80p? Sell?
FYI, I have no idea what the price of this share is on a day-to-day basis as I just buy and hold, reinvest the dividends. However, I see that my own investment is down 32%, which isn’t great.

I spoke too soon lol.
I’m same buy and hold and keep reinvesting dividends. I don’t think I’d sell unless the Sp hit something like 1.40 per share
Hello fellow Ft ears.
I’ve been looking at the regulatory news on DECs website. They seem to be buying tranches of approx 200000 shares every day or so.
We still have 967m outstanding to go.
Hopefully this is a sign the board are very confident in the business and simply don’t understand why the SP is dropping.
Hello all another day another 200k share buyback.
Assuming the Cashflow is there and the company is stable they must be laughing at these prices.
It does beg the question why only tranches of 200,000 at a time? I understand the cashflow issue but why not wait say do the buyback once a week and buy them in higher amounts?
I also think they really should be putting some shares in treasury, after all it wasn’t long ago they needed to raise funds through a share issue (anyone else remember the good old days of £1+ per share?)
300,000 shares bought today.
Anyone have an idea where they are with the buyback target?
They set out to spend no more than £97.4m in the buyback scheme and it must end no later than 30/06/24.
They don’t keep a running total on how much they have spent but they have purchased (I think) 4,363,054 shares in total. At current prices that would work out at a cost of £3.05m. However, prices have dropped since they started the program so it will likely be closer to £3.5m. Leaving over £90m of funds they are authorised to spend by the board.
At the current rate of purchase, they won’t spend that much by the next AGM. It’s possible they will extend the scheme in June, but it’s also possible they will stop the scheme before that AGM or at that AGM. They could also ramp up their rate of purchase if they don’t see the intended effects of the buyback. If they spent all the £97m that would be 10% of all shares in circulation so in theory should see a 10% increase in share price.
Anybody feel free to correct me if I am wrong or have missed anything.
Another day another share buyback 350,000 today.
Oh for crying out loud. Why does this SP drop every time I choose to buy more shares?
It got beef with you!
Jokes aside, pace yourself, you don’t have to put all the money in right now, just a little at a time will help to average out your buy in price.
Still dropping not looking good!
I’m still scooping them up every few days, hopefully in the next couple of weeks we should see if they announce the next dividend after the confirmed one for this month.
So it’s either a great play to lock in some fat yields or i’ve made a horrible mistake.
I’m currently at 86p at the moment I think I’ll average down to 80p over the next few months only buying when it goes under 70p. Guess I’m a glutton for punishment
How does everyone feel about this stock witha. Div at 20% but it’s pretty much 50% down hmmmm
Even with the high yeilds, investers over last few years are down. Hopefully it’s a different story for yourself.
Oh i’m still down, but this is my second time around with DEC having sold last year around the highs, i started buying again around the £1 mark and been chasing it down since then. So yeah at the moment i’m 21% down.
I’m currently down 16%, but then again the majority of my portfolio is down at the moment. In a long term investor in dividend producing shares so I’m happy as long as the company is sustainable.
The question is is this the “new normal” price or are we going back under 70p again. I seem to remember the exact same thing happened when it it 80p and 90p.
Either way I don’t have any funds for purchases till pay day so I won’t be buying any more I won’t sell though either the dividend covers my losses.
The next trading update is due 15th November. Fingers crossed for some good news.
Oh good the share price is back to normal now phew. Nearly made some money there lol.
Could be a big day Wednesday. Fingers crossed there’s some good news coming out at the AGM
