Diversified Energy Company Plc - DEC - Share chat

Congrats on going green. Unfortunately I’m at about 15.50 average atm bought a lot pre consolidation but also managed to get hold of quite a few under the 10 mark.
I would be very happy if we broke 15 today

Happy to average up sometimes.
In this case I am in at an average of £11.61p (£13 to £10 roughly)
No intentions of adding to.
DEC is not in control of its own destiny.
“Drill baby drill” an increase in supply a negative for price.
More export licences as per Trump. An increase in demand. A positive for price.

Of course the increase in demand should eventually be met by an increase in supply.

And of course no new licences should push up the price of gas in the UK. Excellent for my renewables.

If only I had a TARDIS!

Another purchase by Rusty

And oak blokes view

A smallish purchase within their area. IE a bolt on with good synergies. Includes coal mine wells collecting methane. Looks good to me. DEC modus operandi is clearly expansionary, as long as the purchases remain small it will be beneficial.

And the price drops again. What exactly does the market want DEC to do?
Surely growth can only be a good thing, particularly when it’s paid in cash (no debt)

Considerably more accurate on the election results than the pollsters!

The market appears to be in constant panic in there belief he will overextend the company.
I think the shareholders are moving from those who only saw it as a cash cow to those who are seeing it as a total return share.
Until there is a decent turnover of shareholders then any new purchases will have the same effect.
On the upside gas prices are rising and if Trump does allow more licenses for LNG then they will rise even further.

Hopefully Rusty hasn’t hedged all of this years output!
No doubt some of the prices you are seeing will be hedged to next year.

13th January

US natural gas futures stabilized around $4.0/MMBtu on Monday after a nearly 10% jump earlier in the session,

That is good news in the longer term but as diversified hedge a large percentage of their production not going to be a short term lift unfortunately.

I always see any hedge placed today as next years income. Although I don’t actually know when and what price they hedged at. some of the hedges go out 2 years.
For those with natural gas owning DEC can be there hedge against higher gas bills?
Also the higher UK gas prices (up 7% today) should help the renewables sector.
Something needs to!!!

Agree about renewables the last few months have been a downwards journey I would say buy the dip but when does it stop being a dip.

I will answer that when I know!

"We know what our costs are, we know what our fixed costs are to operate the business and what price we need as a company to be successful in hitting those 50% margins that we talk about all the time.

So, when we get those prices, we just take that price risk off the table and so we were able to enter into some additional hedging out from ‘25 to ‘27 to just really solidify the price, take away some of the price risk and make sure that we have the price that’s necessary to be successful."

Fingers crossed Dec can we break 14?
