FT share price - IG agrees to acquire Freetrade 2025

Yeah I can vouch for that having an enjoyable experience. Still waiting for my transfer though

Also finding T212 easy to use, no snags at all.
The transfer process was a concern, so I just sold my FT ISA holdings, withdrew the cash and then reinvested over on T212. My portfolio isn’t large enough to be worth messing about.
So far I’m finding -

  • Deposits process faster
  • The interface/graphics took some getting used to, and I’d prefer to change some if I can (maybe I just haven’t worked out how yet?)
  • Love the Pies!
  • The community isn’t as responsive to daft questions as here, and isn’t as easy to find answers.

When I deposit in freetrade I literally get a notification 2 or 3 seconds later saying it’s arrived.

For me, FT takes over an hour to deposit. T212 is there in under a minute at most.
I guess it’s down to variables like banks and stuff.

From today’s IGG RNS:

Update on the acquisition of Freetrade

Freetrade has continued to trade well with performance tracking in line with the Group’s expectations.

The Group is pleased to announce that it has received key antitrust and change in control approvals for the acquisition which is now expected to close in April 2025, sooner than originally guided.

I assume it’s pre paid anyway

That’s great news and considering markets.

There are also lots of adverts on the tube in the run up to ISA season and with the new-ish branding.

Hopefully, it lands in the next tax year.

why is that important?

It’s not important for most people, the difference between this and next tax year is it lets me figure out some things.

Nice… Anyone have an idea when we’d expect to receive payment? Is it going to be paid via Crowdcube?

Hey @hazed

Crowdcube will be managing the payments. Keep an eye out for correspondence from them. I can’t give a guide on the timeline, but I’d expect it will take a little bit of time after the close for Crowdcube to receive the cash and make payments.

Finally seems like my transfer to 212 is about to happen. Anyone else’s gone through

hi Alex, who invested directly in the company (no Crowdcube involved) will receive the money earlier? Thanks

Appreciate the quick reply there Alex

Mine’s all gone through. I requested the transfer via the T212 app on 16th Jan. The shares were transferred on 28th Feb and the cash on 6th March. So not too slow. But by transfer request date, I only had a few ETFs.

Tbf I had mine rejected within 2 weeks glad to see all my shares in another platform. Will miss how easy it is to buy penny shares tbf

I will be transferring my holdings around £20k but all paid up on the ISA until 2 September so will wait until July/August so I don’t waste the money I already paid in subscriptions, but as of April all new money will be going into T212
