Hey, I’m looking for a bit of help and advice, and hopefully good news!
I’d started some trading and wanted to keep it manageable and affordable.
Things were going good until I tried to withdraw some profits and turn tokens into pounds.
The advisor kept shifting me from wallet to wallet, having to pay in more and more liquidity (gasses) each time, which in itself built up significantly.
I’m now stuck whereby I can’t afford the last request of gasses to finalise the withdrawal.
Is this right, is it normal, or is it a big fat scam?
What platform are you using?
With normal ones like Coinbase or Kraken it should be pretty easy, one step conversion and withdrawal.
Might be that you chose a bad platform to trade (possibly a scam).
On the same note, which is better platform for crypto in the UK, in terms of costs and security for a small player?
I don’t know much about crypto but the fact you’re being moved through several wallets aswell as paying a fee for each one seems suspect.
Surely it should just be one transaction with some form of fee (e.g handling fee?)
Again this is just my opinion as I don’t have any knowledge when it comes to crypto.
Hi Doogood,
From what you have written, I would be extremely cautious…“The advisor kept shifting me from wallet to wallet, having to pay in more and more liquidity (gasses) each time, which in itself built up significantly”…
Hope it all works out for you.
I’m on coinbase and get my money as soon as I hit sell
Hey, it shifts between Atomic, Coinbase and Crypto.com
Sounds quite suss.
Thanks, do you need to pay gasses to receive the crypto tokens?
How are you being told to pay for the fund moves - is it by making payments to your ‘brokers’ bank account? I work in a banks fraud dept and sorry to say this honestly sounds like it has all the hallmarks of a scam.
