Looking for a bit of info.

I bought snowflake through the app back in September. Paid approx $260 per share. Today they are trading at $275 but the app is showing a loss on my investment.

Why is this?

Is it down to the FX rate £-$?

When I purchased the SNOW stock Sterling was 128 now it’s 140. Is it the fact the stock was purchased in not £ means that a higher £ reduces the effective value of stock?

If it’s not down to the FX rate then what’s the reason?

Hello, Yesterday I’ve bought one share on FB as a test. According to Freetrade, I’ve bought it for £152.17. £1.00 = $1.24The latest price reported was $187.99. I do know that Freetrade has a 0.45% FX exchange rate however when I run the numbers £152.17 equals $189.47 using this rate? Can someone help me understand the FX rate as of what I calculated ends up 0.80% Fx rate? I presume my math is wrong and I’ve tried to reach Freetrade but haven’t got an answer. I did this as I’m planning to invest…

USD Trading using unsettled cash and avoiding the FX charge

Note - edited the idea title to clarify the feature. Agreed,though Freetrade will charge you the 0.45% irrespective for the conversion on the sale and purchase. So the idea is that you would trade before the conversion takes place - if the cash doesn’t settle in USD - you won’t need to have a USD account.
