Influencer marketing spotted 👀

The tickets to see Rita ora are for a show at the eiffel Tower on the 30th September.

It does seem odd that the prizes don’t add up to 50k? That’s certainly the implication I’m getting from the posts and info on it

Apparently they put a clause into the sponsorship that says Adam and Viktor are allowed on stage in their neon pink Freetrade swag :man_dancing::man_dancing:

Speculation or actual fact? :sunglasses:

Competition laws are very strict and this is not in any way how you advertise a £50k “share” giveaway. In theory 3 people could sign up and get a max £2k each as the limit of free share so wouldn’t make the £50k up. Whichever way you look at it the result is a pretty poor PR move for FT.

I can’t ever in my life remember a prize being offered that isn’t clearly matched in the breakdown T&Cs. Besides it can’t be the free shares as the T&C page clearly says " Sign up to Freetrade, fund your account and you’ll get a free share worth between £3 - £200. You’ll ALSO be entered into the prize draw for Rita Ora’s £50,000 free share giveaway"

I just hope they change the £1k to 20 winners ASAP so it matches what they are advertising :stuck_out_tongue: Or they could even just put “Minimum value of XXX” next to each prize and imply all will add to £50k in the end as at the moment bot the FAQQ and T&Cs are very clear it is only £40k :man_facepalming: :joy:

That is BS, Joe used to have adverts before Spotify and some are still stuck on the old broadcasts that are now played on Spotify.

It would also seem that @fryry is not him only as you say as tonnes of people are saying this and there are actually screenshots in the link attached. :+1:

Now at £60k.

Another random observation, they are going to “…select at least 2,500 eligible customers to receive a free ticket to Rita’s upcoming show.”

The Rita thing was always there as it was 2 competitions and the tickets can be entered by post :+1: Well happy they acknowledged and changed as that is the kind of thing that could blow up on Twitter and be very embarrassing.

Can I pay to not receive a free ticket?

It’s funny I said the above to make it to the £50k and they add more options to £60k. Now they are underselling the promo :joy:

I guess it was just a typo at first as no way they didn’t intend to give £50k away but at least they can’t be accused of anything now. It is actually a brilliant promo as the odds on winning will be quite low for the prize on offer and then the 2,500 tickets will be a good, if you wanted one, chance at getting.

Will be interesting to see how many sign ups they get!

The logo looks great on a football shirt! They should frame one of these shirts for the office!

It does sound like they’re a social media phenomenon/meme, so not just a sunday league team.

Is it just me or did the Rita Ora £50k free share giveaway, expiring tomorrow, just have one mention of Freetrade and then done? Hopefully I missed some other marketing?

I appreciate that 1 post might have stimulated a lot of interest with the number of followers she has, but still, it seems like a lot of shares for so little. I hope it has been beneficial!

Or perhaps we hear more during her Eiffel tower show tomorrow?

@GMCay you heard anyone on the forum win a ticket to the show?

Factor in that they already give away free shares as standard, so we should probably be measuring the cost of the campaign as anything they did above that.

I’m assuming they have a figure for average value of acquired user, think I saw this in a pitch deck, so they’ll be measuring against that. They might also have a “multiplier” for first movers in certain demographics. I am guessing that Rita Ora fans were seen as an untapped market, I wouldn’t have put them as a traditional demographic for investing.
