Hi everyone, Iām Mary. Iāve just started on Freetrade.
I wanted to see what kind of investing experience I get when there are no fees. I will use Freetrade in a different way than my other brokerage accounts. Iām a great believer in longterm investing, buying low and selling high, and am here to explore other styles of investing and learn more about investing successfully.
Itās nice to be part of a community, where we can also grow (not just our money) by helping others and learning too.

If only everyone could prosper! But from experience where one person suceeds theres a hundred that donāt.
Seems like those would be people sticking their cash in 0.30% interest bank accounts for decades

Daniel here, work in a medical field and spent last year learning how to invest and also how to trade.
Freetrade is one of the platforms I am looking forward to using. Currently the number of stocks available is a little low but I know it will grow as FT develops.
I mainly use a VCA strategy when investing which nets me really good returns. I also currently trade (spreadbet) in order to maximise gains and that is also going well.
Looking forward to seeing what FT brings to the table I quite excited as I see great potential.

Can you explain what VCA is?

It stands for value cost averaging.
There are many great companies out there but their stock price will have its ups and downs. The goal of VCA is to buy more stock when the price is lower and less when it is at its peaks. You can do this on a monthly basis, this will bring your average cost a lot lower and I find that it brings in greater returns than price cost average (where you just invest the same amount each month no matter where the price is.)

But there are many variations of VCA, buy and sell zones etc many different strategies but I think a lot of people do them without realising.

Hi,
Sam from sunny Australia but have lived in the UK last 5 years. Have invested in stocks and shares before in Aus but always put off by fees to buy/sell eating into any potential profits. UK seemed the same so not worth the hassle. Great to see something so easy to use and set up, and luckily managed a small investment in the last founding round. Believe there is a huge untapped market of similar Gen Y/millennials who are put off by complex investment platforms, terminology and especially fees!
Have been using freetrade for last few weeks and had been great learning so much and looking at what strategies to use. This forum and links to other great sites/podcasts had been very helpful. Even made me look more closely at my pension and what that is invested in. Mostly long term focused as recently married and hopefully a few new mouths to feed in the next few years.
Looking forward to many ups and downs (hopefully more ups!!).

Hi all,
Iām Paul and very new to investing. I have been with Freetrade for around 4 months now and am enjoying the thrill of the possibility of growing my portfolio. At the moment however Iām feeling the squeeze as the Trump vs China situation is having a big effect on all my stocks.

Iām Tony, new to investing, a bit later in life than most, and have just discovered Freetrade. Itās fantastic! I have been reading topics on here for about 2 weeks now and have picked up lots of tips, I think. Patiently waiting for access to the App from Ireland. No. Freetrade no tiene sistema de afiliaciĆ³n.
Lo que Freetrade si estƔ preparando es un programa de referencias para inversores y clientes. Va a estar disponible en Reino Unido y mƔs tarde se verƔ.
MƔs no te puedo decir porque yo no trabajo en Freetrade. Esto es todo lo que yo se sobre este tema.
Creo que eso es lo que todos deseamos.
